Going Places

The room was dark except a light coming from a slit in the doorway leading to a place Haley didn't know. She crept forward towards it, curiosity getting the best of her. She places her hand on the door, but pauses before pushing it open. She can sense there's something wrong. Finally gaining the courage, Haley pushes the door open to display a horrific scene before her eyes. There's Devin hovering over a bloody body with the knife in his hand. When he looks up at her, there's no trace of the man she loves, but instead she finds nothing behind his eyes.

Gasping for air Haley sits up in her bed. It was only a dream. Stirring next to her in bed Devin reaches out towards her. "It was just a dream, my love", he comforts her while wrapping his arms around her and pulling her close. Haley looks at him still trying to process what she saw, it seemed so real. She places her hand on his face and nods, he's right it was only a dream. He smiles at her and slowly places his lips onto hers. When Devin releases, he smiles at her and gets out of bed while saying, "Waking up to my beautiful fiancée is something I'll never get used to." Haley reaches out for his hand and pulls him back to the bed. "We don't have to be at work for another hour", she urges while smiling seductively at him. "Oh? Now this is why you're my girl", he comments before laying her back down on the bed.

Walking into the hospital it was already in chaos. Haley takes action right away, but not before Devin can get in one last kiss. She smiles at him and returns to go help the nurses. "What's the case?" she asks while looking down at the body being wheeled in. It was a young boy with a pipe sticking out of his abdominal. "He was walking on the sidewalk when the building next to him, that was being constructed, blew up. Causing one of the pipes to penetrate him. His mom has been called and is on the way now", one of the nurses tells her. "Take him up to emergency surgery, Dr. Devin Young has just come in", she orders. The nurse nods at Haley and wheels away, however at this point she hears screams coming behind her. She turns to find a crying woman running in her direction, the nurse that didn't go tells her, "That's the mom." The woman reaches Haley, letting her finally get a good look at the woman. Fear covers her body from head to toe and she freezes up. She's flashbacked to her dream, it's the woman lying dead on the floor. "Dr. Sunder? Are you ok?" the words bring her back. Haley turns towards the direction of the voice and find she is laying down. "Where am I?" she asks. The nurse smiles sweetly at her and replies, "Haley you passed out." Haley jolts up and finds her head to be pounding, while letting out a wince of pain. Next thing she knows Devin is in her eyesight with concern in his eyes. "Don't scare me like that, ever again, love. You wouldn't wake up", he tells her while placing kisses on her face.
