The next day at around 5, I decided to get ready to go see the old friend that Kinley saw. I just put on some jeans and a high school softball T-shirt. At 5:30, I walked downstairs to find Kinley in the kitchen making stir fry. She saw me out of the corner of her eye and asked, "Going to Roma's now?"
"Yeah," I answered.
"Have fun Lay."
"I'll try," I told her with a smile and left the house.
I drove to Tony Roma's and texted Kinley: "Is the friend here?"
She replied: "Yes. They're waiting for you."
I got out of the car and walked into the restaurant. I looked around and only saw one person waiting, but he had his back towards me. As I started walking closer to him, he seemed familiar. I tapped his shoulder and he turned around.
My hands tightened into fists and I asked, "It's not you is it?"
He nodded and I turned to leave. Darren quickly, but gently, grabbed my arm. I didn't turn around as he said, "I know I hurt you. But please, just stay for dinner. My treat."
"No," I growled.
"Please Layla."
"No."
"We don't even have to sit next to each other. Just across. You don't even have to look at me."
I sighed, "Fine."
He let go of my arm and we walked to the host. She led us to a table and gave us our menus. After deciding what we wanted, we were quiet until after the waiter left. A couple minutes later, Darren started, "I'm so sorry Layla. I didn't want to hurt you like I did. It was a mistake to leave you."
I stayed silent and he continued, "I wasn't thinking. All I knew was that I was lonely all the time."
That's when I lost it. I glared into his eyes and asked him, "Do you think that you were the only lonely one?! I went out so I could try to forget about the fact that you weren't with me! And once I went back to my apartment, I remembered that you weren't there!"
I took a breath and continued, "When you broke up with me, I couldn't deal with it! You were the first person I ever loved! I cried myself to sleep every night for weeks! Even being with Kinley and Kayla couldn't help me with the heartbreak Darren!"
He told me, "I didn't mean to Layla. I came back to make things right with you. I just want you back."
Darren looked down at the table. I finished, "Well you can't have me back. I finally met someone who knew what I was going through. My boyfriend! And now, it doesn't hurt as bad."
Our food came and I ate quickly. As soon as I was done, I got up and left the restaurant.

I stormed into the house and yelled, "Kinley Marie Levins!"
She sheepishly came downstairs and stood in front of me. She asked, "How was dinner?"
"Oh it was great. Having dinner with my ex boyfriend is absolutely the best thing ever," I growled.
"Lay. You needed the closure. You were never going to get over him completely if you didn't find out why he broke up with you."
Tears filled my eyes as I asked her, "How am I supposed to get over him at all if he said that he wanted me back Kin?"
She gasped and took me into her arms. She told me, "I had no clue that he was going to say that!"
I sniffled as I slowly let my tears out. I told her, "I know. You wouldn't have made me go if you did."

So sorry for not updating lately. I've been busy with getting ready for school. My Internet was being stupid for a while too.
But anyway, go Layla! You tell him off!
