On October 24, I was at the church helping Kinley get dressed. I was still in my plaid shirt and jeans, but Kinley was more important.
Kinley undressed from her street wear and stepped into her white gown. She pulled it up and over her shoulders and turned for me to zip up her dress. I grabbed her veil and placed it onto her head. Kinley turned and faced me. I smiled and told her, "You look absolutely stunning, Kin."
She looked into the full length mirror and smiled a sad smile. I asked her, "What's wrong?"
"I wish my mom was here to see this," she told me with tears in her eyes.
I hugged her and whispered, "Oh Kin."
"We always dreamed of my wedding together Lay. I dreamed that both she and my dad would walk me down the aisle together. But that stupid drunk driver had to go and take that away from me!" she cried with a few tears slipping.
I quickly wiped her eyes and told her, "Kin. You know she's watching you from where she is. She'll still cry, even from Heaven. Don't think about the accident, think about Joe. And your future with him. That all starts today."
Kinley smiled and hugged me. She whispered, "Thank you Lay."
I smiled and she gasped, "You still need to get dressed Layla!"
I laughed and she pushed me towards my dress. I rolled my eyes as I changed into the red bridesmaid dress.
Someone knocked on the door and Kinley called, "Who is it?"
"It's me and the photographer," Kayla said through the door.
"Come on in Kay," I said.
The two walked in and Kayla said, "I figured you'd want pictures of the three of us."
Kinley nodded and we posed for a couple pictures. We looked at the time and I said, "It's almost time."
We grabbed our flowers and walked to the doors of the church. The organ started playing and the wedding started.

Once Joe and Kinley were pronounced husband and wife, we went to the reception.
We sat down and started talking while the hors d'oeuvres were coming around. Kayla gave the maid of honor's speech and Brian gave the best man's speech.
Eventually, a bunch of clinks came from glasses and, of course, Joe and Kinley kissed. The food came and we all ate. Once we were all done, the dancing part came around.
Joe and Kinley had the first dance as a married couple and the rest of the guests joined in with dancing. Logan and I danced to I Won't Give Up by Jason Mraz, when he started saying, "I love you Layla."
"I love you too Logan," I responded with a smile.
"You have no idea how much I love you. Kinley told me, that when we met, you were on your way to the bathroom, and then you forgot what you were doing."
I blushed and he continued, "I'll admit it, I was afraid to ask you out. But I'm glad I did. And I'll finally admit, that I didn't let you win. You beat me fair and square."
I laughed, "I knew it."
"When we first kissed that night, I had asked you like in one of those romance movies and you loved it. I remember when we first said 'I love you'. I was chasing you around my house and I tickled you. You called me an ass and I said that I was your ass. Then you were being a smartass and you joked saying that I knew that I loved you. And then I said it. And you said it back."
I smiled and he continued, "I know it's only been 10 months. But I'm 27 and don't think I'll find anyone as amazing as you."
Our eyes locked and I gasped as he got down on one knee. Logan pulled a velvet box out of his pocket and asked, "Layla Johnson. Will you marry me?"
He opened the box and revealed a sparkling diamond ring. I slowly nodded and whispered, "Yes. Yes I'll marry you."
He stood up and took the ring out of the box. I gave him my left hand and watched as he slid the ring onto my finger. Once he squeezed my hand, I jumped into his arms.
Someone tapped on my shoulder and I was released from Logan's arms. I turned and found Kinley and Kayla behind me. They gave me a hug at the same time and shrieked, "You're engaged!"
"I know!" I responded.
Behind Kinley and Kayla, were the Starkids, even some I hadn't met before. Lauren, Jaime, Meredith, Brian, Joey, and Joe all hugged me one at a time and then I met some other Starkids; like Arielle, Dylan, Brian Rosenthal, Joe Moses, and many more.
Once they all left, I turned back to Logan. He took my hands as we slow danced once more. Logan whispered, "Mrs. Layla Schmidt. It has a nice ring to it."
I smiled and whispered, "I love you Logan."
"And I love you Layla."
