Chapter Eighteen

When I stopped crying for a couple minutes, I took that opportunity to get into my car. I drove to a familiar place. I parked and walked to the front porch that I helped my mom paint when I was nine. I knocked on the door with tears threatening to spill over again. Luckily for me, my mom answered the door. She noticed the tears in my eyes and pulled me into her arms and into the house.

She led me to my old room and we sat on the bed as I cried. When I stopped, she wiped my wet cheeks and kissed my forehead. She asked, "What's wrong sweetheart?"

"I don't know what to do Mama," I told her.

"About what? What happened?"

"I got a call from Jaime. But she wasn't directly on it. I heard stuff Mama. Darren was there. And he was crying. He told Jaime that he still loved me and made a mistake. He told her that every time he went out, he thought, talked, or called them me. He told her that he didn't know how much longer he could take it."

My mom pulled me into her arms and said, "You still love him."

My tears flowed and I nodded my head and said, "But I love Logan too."

"I know you do."

"So what do I do Mama?"

She had me look into her eyes as she said, "Follow your heart. Your heart will find out what it wants."

"What if it's too late?"

"It won't be," my mom smiled and we walked downstairs.

I hugged her and went back out to my car. I drove home, but on my way home, I saw memories. I saw a couple walking down the street with no cares in the world. I saw a man with pink sunglasses. I saw a billboard with an advertisement for Glee on it. My heart then knew what it wanted.

I got home and went to my room. I pulled out my phone and dialed a familiar number.
