They were my secret lovers. The ones I kept from prying eyes during the day. They were the perfect duo that filled my night; my deepest darkest secrets, the ones I only shared with the silver moonlight.
While we walked down dirt paths the night would surround us, mother Earths rich scents tickling my nose as Sorrow pulled me close to him. My closest lover, his caramel arm draped over my shoulders his face leaning closer to mine, brushing his bruised lips against my own. Galaxies of bruised colors dancing between our mouths as our tongues slowly danced with one another; pain shivering through me as the cold gentleness of his lips left me hallow with agony. A sigh of relief left my pained lips anyway, content in the comfort of his embrace.
Love scoffed beside us, I could see jealousy clinging to her the way I clung to Sorrow. Her arms seemed to tense with the anger of wanting to touch me too as she threw her luscious blonde hair over a naked shoulder. I met her eyes shyly but with a fervor that seemed to eat through me, the want of needing her. She met my gaze with hurt and disdain but kept on walking, allowing me to trail my eyes along her body. Memories of her lean limbs pressed against mine rushed through my mind making my back burn with the memory of her fingertips tracing not only my skin but my broken soul. Her arm sagged under the weight of the wine bottle she insisted we bring. I ignored Sorrows insisting tugs as I watched her tip back the bottle to her scarlet lips drinking as much as she could before leaving only red scars on the rim, marking her territory and not even bothering to wipe it away as she handed me the lovely poison, an enticing dare dancing across her ever changing eyes. I held on to the bottle, the hard glass digging into my sore flesh but I ignored it because at that moment I noticed we had stopped walking. I felt the dare in the air, the dare of drinking the poison that will tie me to my lovers even more. I felt it run through the arm that Sorrow had around me and I saw it in Love's eyes, sparkling with danger and beauty. Sorrow placed butterflies on my neck as I maintained eye contact with Love. Pain buzzed through my neck spreading to my chest as I raised the red stained rim to my mouth, my tongue being the first to taste the bittersweet of the wine. It exploded in my mouth as I kept drinking nonstop, only to catch a few breaths between gulps. My head felt dizzy with the expanding pleasure filling every inch of my mouth while it mixed with the fireworks of pain that filled my chest and radiated from the butterflies Sorrow still pressed against my neck. Love smiled, her eyes still sparkling with beautiful mischief as both feelings swallowed me whole with such intensity that I kept wanting more. Addicted to the enticing beauty of it, I kept coming closer to both my lovers, where under the silver they loved me and filled me with sorrow.
