Silence of Sorrow

Ashes of a soul left to dust away In the silence of sorrow.
Stains of dried tears left to trail up and down soft cheeks.
The hiccup of a sob threatening to leave rose lips but fear of being heard silences the need.
A head thrown back against a yellow crumbling wall
Pain exploding through every cell
Screams trying to claw out of a bruised, tortured throat
But there's no sound, no whisper of the agony that that rips apart that tormented body
Just a silence that was filled with an affirming sorrow
It made the air thick and cloudy with dysphoria
Made that mangled throat burn for comforting, light air but to no use
Instead, frail hands clenched into tight fists and tired eyes squeezed shut
Moments later they opened and stared into blank space
Such a delicate, radiant body put through so much torment
Such an angelic, alluring soul put through such a plague of abuse
Such events that have forever scarred such a person
All this only to keep quite and suffer in a silence of sorrow.
