The wind was blowing in my face, I felt it flowing around my body. I saw Star ahead and used my lithe body to race through the winds. I thought of an idea. I slightly tilted my wings up, letting the draft take me into the air. I was up in the clouds by now so dove a little under the clouds to steady myself. I looked down and saw Star going at dangerous speeds. I dove down at a diagonal angle. I tucked in my wings and started falling. I then felt water around me. I opened my eyes, it was salty. I started swimming up. My wings burst open and I beat them hard. Soon I felt a chilling wind on my face. I was out of the water and I saw Star behind me.
"I beat you!!!!" I yell at her, the disgusting taste of salt water still in my mouth. I put my paws on my tongue and started wiping but that only made it worse. My paws were filthy, again."Ughhhhh..." I sigh.
"Your going to need your cleaning rock again!!!" Said Star laughing hard.
"Or maybe some fresh water." I joked. I looked at the to the sky. It was breathtaking, it was dawn. I looked out to the sea and saw the bright crescent moon sinking into the sea. I turned a round and saw the trees grabbing at the sun. Slowly but surely getting away from their grasp. I looked into the sea and saw the colors of dawn and the slowly fading away stars merged together making such a beautiful image. I looked at Star, her beautiful eyes shimmering in the image making them look like Stardust, earning her her name.
"Wow..." Star breathed. "It's so beautiful."
"I know, but what I don't know is why the queen locked herself in a mountain for centuries without missing the beauty of the world."
"Well I guess we should start looking for some food."
"Good idea." I answered back. We flew out far into the sea, using our echolocation to see if there was a pod of dolphins or whales. I felt my echolocation bounce back. The image of a pod of whales came to my mind. I looked at Star. "Found 'em."
I told her. We used our echolocation to track the whales, we were in luck. The whales were coming to the surface to get some breath. This could be our chance.
I saw the whales and flew high. Star did the same. We spotted a very big whale. My eyes locked onto it. We dove down as quick as light. I shot my plasma blast at the whale. This sent the pond into a frenzy. The mothers bringing their calves underwater. I dove down into the sea while Star took the above. I clawed at the whale's powerful chest. I heard blasting from above. Must be from Star. I thought. I realized I was running out of breath, I had to make this quick. I retracted my teeth and opened my mouth. I was close the whale's heart. I started up my plasma blast and hit from underwater. It went straight for the heart. The whale was still alive and I was out of shots. Suddenly a reddy-black body dove in beside me. It was Firestorm. He shot a couple plasma blast where I had shot mine and the whale was dead. I dove out of the water with him and took a deep breath. Salt water had gone up my nose. I looked down and saw the rest of the whales had dispersed.
"Thanks Firestorm." I muttered to Firestorm between breaths. I was afraid of what he was going to say because he is a very flirty and upbeat guy. Even though he got mad earlier it's how he rolls.
"Ladies, ladies. If you wanted to be the damsel in distress for me to save then you should've just asked." He said. "And please call me Fire, for the spark of fire in my eyes." He continued, looking at me.
"Whatever." I said annoyed. "Come on Star, we've got to lug this whale over to Dragon Island, you to Fire." I said reluctantly. He came to the whale and grabbed the tail. Me and Star grabbed the fins of the mighty beast. "Ughhh..." I said struggling to lift it. Finally we got it into the air and started the long fly there.
