Ch. 9 Awaken the Demon

《Keiko's pov》
It was Mika. I knew it from the boy in my dreams and the look on Yuu's face. I stood a few feet away. Mika was supposed to be dead, at least that's what I was told. How could he be alive?

《Yuu's pov》
"Mika." I said, shocked. I couldn't believe it. He was alive. We both stared at each other until Guren shouted at me, "Why aren't you killing him!?"

He attacked Mika with his own sword but Mika jumped away from him. I stood and watched as he stood next to the vampires.

Guren slapped me. "Baka! This is a battlefield! There is no hesitation when killing a vampire!"

He then collapsed and covered his mouth, spitting out blood. He gave me a look. I backed away as Keiko grabbed my arm.

"Is it him? That's Mika right?" She asked, continuing to stare at Mika. I nodded. I heard our squad running up to us. "Why didn't you activate the curse, Yuu?" Shinoa asked.

《Keiko's pov》
I continued to look at Mika. "Our family... is with the vampires." I said quietly. I could tell some of them were looking at me strange.

I watched as Yuu walked forward. "Mika, are you really Mika?" He asked, tearing falling down his face. I stood next to Yuu.

《Mika's pov》
"Yuu, Keiko." I looked at them. There they were, standing before me, in the clutches of those humans.

"So what now? They're probably being used by those humans." Ferid asked me. "I'll save them, of course." I replied, not hesitating for one second.

"But they're human too. They'll never become our friends." Ferid continued. I gritted my teeth. "Oh, I know. I'll turn them into vampires like Krul did-" I grabbed his neck. "I'll kill you if you lay a hand on both Keiko and Yuu." I threatened.

"How about this? I stop those humans and you save your precious angels." Ferid suggested. I didn't care about what he did. As long as he didn't touch Yuu and Keiko.

The humans, your friends that are faking it, are greedy. I turned my head as I watched Crowley, Bell, and Horn appear. "Let's make them livestock. Operation Livestock." Ferid said.

"Not a bad idea." Crowley said. I couldn't agree more, if Keiko agreed Yuu didn't become livestock themselves.

《Keiko's pov》
Mika and a vampire seemed to be in a conversation. Then I saw the red headed vampire show up, followed by the two female vampire nobles.

"Everyone, prepare to retreat!" Guren shouted. "Wait, my family, Mika's over there!" Yuu said. "Then do you want everyone to get killed?" Guren asked. Yuu didn't reply. I could understand him.

We started retreating and moving back as the vampires advanced forward. As our squad retreated, the vampire who was previously conversing with Mika, jumped in front of us. "I won't let you get away." He said.

I somehow recognized that voice and his face. I suddenly got furious. He was the vampire who killed my family. I could recall that his name was Ferid. I could tell I was right when I saw the look on Yuu's face.

Yuu started to attack Ferid. "What are you doing?" Kimizuki asked. Yuu continued to wildly attack him. I watched as Guren rushed forward to help Yuu.

I was about to rush after him but Mika appeared before me. "Mika." Was all I said. He grabbed me and carried me away. He left me at the roof of a grocery store. Then he turned around and headed towards Yuu.

I fell to my knees. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't help them. I looked at the others as they fought against the vampire nobles. Then my eyes were drawn to Mika as he cut Ferid's arm off. I didn't understand. Did he like the humans or the vampires?

Then he grabbed Yuu and jumped over to me. "Let's go, Yuu, Keiko. We can leave all of this behind." Mika said. I shook my head. "No, we can't."

"Our friends..." Yuu said. "No! They aren't your friends. They're deceiving you!" Mika said. I couldn't understand what he was saying. It wasn't true. I turned around and gasped. The red haired vampire was holding Shinoa by the neck.

"Shinoa!" I heard Yuu shout beside me. "Please don't look back. There's nothing behind you." Mika made us both turn around, but I kept my eyes on Shinoa. I stared in shock as each of our friends were taken and bitten by the vampires.

"Keiko, you'll run away with me right?" Mika asked. I just stared, unable to say anything while I heard Yuu trying to escape from Mika. Then Yuu screamed. I turned around and saw his face. His left eye had no white and had changed to blood.

Then hell unleashed. Black spikes that appeared winglike came out of Yuu's back. "W-What's happening?" I asked. "I don't know." Mika said. "His human part is losing control." I heard Shirubā Yuki say. "What do you mean, Yuki?" I didn't get an answer.

Yuu attacked us and the entire roof collapsed. Mika shielded me so I wouldn't get hurt. Yuu continued forward and attacked the vampires. He created a huge crater with blood.

I ran towards him. "Yuu! Stop please!" Then I froze as he faced me. "S-S-S-Sinners... sinners must all be an-an-annihilated." He said as he walked towards me.

He was about to kill me when Mika got in front of him. "No Yuu! Don't kill humans." He said. I didn't know what else to do. I ran forward and hugged Yuu.

"Yuu, please stop! Don't do this to yourself!" I shouted. The blood coming from his back seemed tod dissappear.

He screamed in pain. Then he vomited out blood. "Yuu." I said and grabbed him before he fell. I laid him down then I got up. I looked at Mika and smiled. He was with Ferid.

I was still bit confused. Which side was he on? Which side am I on? I was about to walk towards him when someone hit me and I blacked out.

Days later

I awoke in a dark room. I couldn't move my arms or my legs. I felt as if my body had gone numb. I heard a door open and light shined in the room. "Ah, you're awake." A voice said.

I tried to move my head but I couldn't. "Oh, don't even try to, my dear. We drained most of your blood out so you would have no energy." The voice said. It must be a vampire.

I tried to raise my head. I was laying on a white table. I wasn't wearing my uniform and my swords were out of my reach. I turned to the vampire. It was the red haired vampire noble from before.

"You must be wondering why you're here." He said. "Well, all will be explained eventually." He said and grinned, flashing his sharp fangs. One thing I did know now was I had been kidnapped by the vampires.
