HANSOL'S POV;
as i made my way to the door to leave the dorms, i spotted a tall figure, almost guarding the door, in black attire. i struggled to make out who it was because of the black snapback while i walked until i realized it was wonwoo.
"excuse me!" i chimed in attempt to move him away from the door. he didn't move.
"i'll give you ten thousand won to listen to bvb with me," he offered, looking up from the floor.
i sighed. "i'll pay you more to shut up and move," i said, pushing him out of the way before turning the knob and leaving.
exiting the pledis building wearing my neat clothing and bright smile, i texted my favorite cousin before making my way to my car. i was finally going to see my parents for the first time since new years day!

"mom! dad! i missed you two so much!" i brought my cheerful mom and dad into a big hug after they welcomed me into our home. "where's sofia?" i asked as i let go of them and looked around.
"she's out with her friends now," my dad replied. "she'll be back soon."
"oh, well, good thing i'll be here till late!" i grinned as my parents lead me inside our home.
"anyways," my mom said as the three of us walked over to the kitchen counter and sat down on a stool, "who's the new girl? i saw online that you were spotted with a girl. is she a girlfriend?" she winked.
"what?! no! mom, that's haera!" i exclaimed, followed by a laugh.
she raised a brow and my dad tilted his head. "who is haera?" he asked.
i sighed. "haera, my cousin." i rolled my eyes at them. "your niece," i said to my dad. how can they forget their own niece?
it probably comes with age, i decided.
"hansol," my mom began softly. "you don't have any cousins."
"what are you talking about, mom?" i laughed. "what about haera then?"
"i don't know who she is, but i know she's definitely not your cousin. you have none," my dad answered for her. i looked at my mom and she nodded.
after thinking about it for a quick minute, i came to realize that there really is no way she could be my cousin. i was completely taken aback. how could this be? how could she lie to me for so long? i furrowed my eyebrows angrily and let out a sigh. "wow."
i'm so stupid.

i dropped myself on my bed back at the dorms after having a great time with my parents and my little sister, sofia. i was still angry at haera for lying, so i decided to simply leave it at that and not message her. however, that didn't last for long. my phone began to vibrate against my thigh. thinking it was a friend or another member, i slid my phone out of my pocket and unlocked it. unfortunately, i opened up a message from haera.
haeryass: youoyo are you back yet from ur visit
haeryass: its like 11 pm
i didn't reply.
haeryass: 🅱️oi did you just readzone me
haeryass: bitch ill uncousin you
vernun: u cant uncousin me if we were never cousins in the first place
