Chapter Forty-Nine // {jordan's pov}

*** MATURE CHAPTER ***

Tonight was the whole 'welcoming party' for everyone. Unfortunately, I had to go. Perks of being the girlfriend of Rick Grimes. I was lying on the bed in his bedroom as he looked for something to wear. I wasn't even bothering.

"Jords, you're going to make us late," he said as he pulled a tie out of a draw. I shrugged, I didn't want to go. It just wasn't my thing. Rick turned towards me.

"I need you to help make a good impression," he said with a smile. I rolled my eyes and rolled off of the bed.

"You are such a child sometimes, even more so than Carl," he chuckled.

"I just have a bad feeling about it," I mumbled, standing up.

"It'll be fine, just go get changed into something formal," he assured, I watched as he buttoned up his dress shirt.

I could feel metal digging into my back, reminding me that I stole Rick's gun from the armoury and I removed it from the signing out list.

"Rick, don't get mad at me but," I pulled out his colt python. His eyes fixated onto the gun with confusion.

"How did you get that?" he asked, glancing up at me.

"Fairly easily, I just removed it from all the sign out sheets and took it," I shrugged. He strode over to me and kissed my forehead.

"Thank you," he mumbled, taking it out of my grasp. I watched as he tucked it into his pants, hiding it from view.

"I have some ammo in my house, if you need any," I added with a smile. At least he wasn't mad at me. He nodded and grinned at me. He turned to grab his tie from on top of the set of draws.

"Wait," I called out, making him turn back around to me, raising an eyebrow. I went over to him and buttoned up the top button, which he had forgotten about.

"There," I said, I kissed him on the lips before backing away towards the door.

"I'll meet you there, okay?" I double checked before leaving.

"Yup," he agreed before adding, "I love you, Jordan."

I blushed, "I love you too, Sheriff." Rick chuckled at what I called him. I smiled once more before skipping out of the house to my own.

Time to find something to wear....

After ten million hours of trying to choose something decent, I finally decide on a maroon dress that has 3 quarter length sleeves and it comes up to mid thigh. I decide to put my hair up in a high ponytail, just in case I need to leave. Unfortunately, I had a pair of black heels or a pair of converse to wear. I went with the heels.

I stepped out of my house and into the cool night air. For once, it wasn't warm. I stepped down the porch stairs and walked in the middle of the road to Deanna's house.

"Mom!" Carl yelled from behind me. I bit my lip, not used to being called 'mom' by anyone. I turned around to see him running towards me with Judith in his arms.

"Why aren't you there yet?" I asked him as he caught up to me.

"Judith threw up on me," he grumbled. I bursted out laughing, making him frown at me.
