The courtroom was silent beside the crying of Mary's daughter. The judge finally sighed and slammed down his fist against the podium.
"I sentence her to death by hanging!" The judge screamed, the hatred in his voice burning with each word.
"No, no!" Mary screamed, holding her baby daughter close to her chest and sobbing, "I'm not a witch! I'm not!"
"Witch!" The crowd screamed, spitting at her and furiously yelling at her.
"No, I'm not a witch! I'm really not a witch!" Mary's baby began crying harder and she held the child against her, feeling the warmth of the hopeful young girl in her arms.
"Take her to the tree!" The judge slammed his fist down a few more times before two men snatched the baby away from Mary."No!" Mary screamed, the pain in her voice echoing off the wooden walls of the court room, "No!"
Mary watched as the baby was carried away, and soon, two men unexpectedly grabbed her arms and dragged her away to the tree...
"I curse you all! I curse every last one of you! I curse the grounds this courtroom was built. I curse this entire town! You will all suffer!" Mary spat as the judge tied the noose around her neck, "You'll all suffer..."
