The bang on the black door drew David Collins away from his room.

He stared at Willie Loomis.

"How are your studies doing, David?", he asked.

"Good, I know about  what's going on in Collinsport", he answered.

"You do?", Willie smirked.

"Yeah, you released Barnabas Collins from his coffin. He's a vampire".

"I know who he is, David. I set him free".

"You shouldn't have done that".

"And why shouldn't I".

"He used his powers to do that".

"I'm sure you read a lot".

"Yes, soon you'll free Angelique Brouchard, Quentin Collins, and others".

"You don't think that I'd free everyone".

"You're his servant".

"I want to do what's right, David".

I walked towards the statues.

"David, it's time for your studies".

"Good afternoon, Miss Winters", Willie Loomis grinned.

"Good afternoon, Willie. I thought you were going to talk with Barnabas about the other Collins relatives on the walls".

"I have family on the walls at Collinsport".

"You're the tutor. You don't have family here".

"Oh, I do. I belong here, Willie".

"And now you come here by train. And everything fits into a huge jigsaw puzzle". He stopped talking; he then walked back into the huge Drawing Room.

And let her leave, so that she could talk to David Collins.

"David, what's the matter?", I asked.

"Leave me alone", David Collins answered.

"We have a new guest".

"He's a vampire".

"There's no such thing as a vampire".

"He's a vampire. I know it".

"David, it's not true".

"He is. He wants to kill us all".

"David, Barnabas Collins won't hurt you, or me, or anyone else".

"How do you know?", he shivered.

"I don't".

"See, I told you the truth, and you don't believe me".

"Now, let's talk about the the Declaration of Independence".

"July 4, 1776", David said.

"Good, now let's take a break".

"I don't want to talk about books".

"Maybe later".

And he nodded.
