I was surrounded my noises, yet I was unable to see. Everything was pitch black but loud. There was a cackle then a slurping sound and I could faintly hear a liquid running down someone's throat as they drank hastily. After hearing that I realized how thirsty I was. My tongue felt like sand paper in my mouth.

I tried moving it, but it felt like it weighed a ton. My body ached and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't move. I was stuck laying on what I believed to be a moist floor. It felt grimy underneath me, it was moist yes, but not cold. I felt the sweat run down the side of my face from the humidity of where ever I was.

I remember how I got here. We had just started fighting Christian and Clara's wolves. We were out number but that isn't what got me here. Emma...Jeremy's little friend had hit me with a dart that pumped god knows what into me. She betrayed me, her 'Alpha'. I meant so little to her I suppose.

I felt a faint prick on my right wrist and I mentally winced. Then I felt something warm surround the area. Then the sounds of liquid rushing down someone's throat filled my ears again, was I being consumed?

'Let's see what an Original tastes like,' the words Clara spoke filled my head and had my heart pounding. This can't be happening! I can't let this happen! I willed myself to move, I yelled at my arm to rip away from who ever was relishing in my blood, but nothing happened. I was hopeless and helpless,

"Clara, that's enough for today, don't you think?" I recognized the voice as Christian's,

"Who cares, let her drink her dry," I heard Emma mutter,

"No, I'm done anyways," Clara said and I heard her feet shuffle away from me,

"Was it worth it?" Christian asked sounding unamused,

"Best damn blood I've ever tasted," Clara said with a cackle,

"When are we going to kill her?" Emma asked hastily and Clara's feet stopped moving against the floor,

"Afraid?" Clara's smooth voice mocked and Emma scoffed,

"Of her? No, there's not much to be afraid of now, she's completely paralyzed. It's safe to assume she's fully in a coma right now," Emma said sounding sure of herself,

"So, she has no idea what's going on?" Clara asked sounding a little irritated,

"Why is that a bad thing?" Christian asked taking a few steps closer to me,

"I want her to know what I'm doing! I want her to know I am the one over powering her! I am the one drinking her dry!" Clara shouted and I could literally imagine the steam coming out of her ears. Little does she know, I know exactly who's consuming me, 'over powering' me as she said,

"It's better if she's in a coma," Christian muttered and a slap noise filled the air,

"I want her to suffer! Mentally, physically and emotionally. That's why we need to find her mate," Clara snapped,

"I can find him easily," Emma said quietly,

"Oh? And how is that?" Clara asked sounding mildly interested,

"The only one who knows I betrayed the pack is Celine, no one else, so they trust me, especially Jem's cousin Jeremy," Emma said sounding proud of herself. I mentally screamed. She's going to betray them! I have to reach them! I have to try!

I pushed my thoughts to Jem. I remembered everything I could about him. His jet black hair and how smooth it was, his ice blue eyes that held nothing but love when I looked in them. I envision his smile and the way he laughs when I get embarrassed. Now images of his arms run through my mind and how safe I felt with them wrapped around me. I was so close to reaching him, just a little farther...then I felt a pain in my ribs as someone kicked me and a rib snapped,

"So you aren't fully gone, are you?" Clara's voice filled my ears,

"How'd you know?" Christian asked the question that was running through my mind,

"Well, it'd be stupid to answer that with her laying here and being able to hear. Let's take this to the meeting room," Clara said and I heard her light steps walk out then I heard what I presumed to be Emma's small feet. The only pair that didn't walk out were Christian's. I felt a warm palm on my cheek and would have loved to yank me head back,

"She's going to kill you because of how powerful you are so I'll do you a favor," Christian's voice rang in my ear as his lips grazed it, then I felt a pain in my chest, "This'll put you to sleep for some time," he whispered then as I was falling into nothingness I heard him whispered two words I would have never guessed to hear from him, "I'm sorry,"

...

Jem's P.O.V

For the longest time I searched. I ran and I ran, everywhere they could have gone but they completely vanished. They took Celine with them and I can't even pick up on their scent. Now here I sit in Celine's room, on her bed without her by my side.

I cringed for the umpteenth time at the thought of never having her by my side again. My wolf whimpered at the same thought and I admittedly had no strength to reassure him. She's been gone for 17 hours now, and my patience is wearing thin,

"Jem, this isn't healthy," Cynthia said while opening Celine's bedroom door, "She wouldn't want you cooped up in here like this, so come down stairs and eat something if you aren't going to sleep," She said putting on a small sad smile. She may be talking bravely but her blood shot puffy eyes show that not long ago she was doing the same thing I'm doing now.

But I slowly got out Celine's bed and ran my hand through my hair, "I need her back," I whispered and Cynthia nodded,

"Come down stairs hun, we'll figure something out together," Cynthia said walking over to me and setting a small hand on my shoulder. I nodded and put my brave face on. When we walked down stair I saw every single one of our pack members here except the one I needed the most,

"We'll find her Jem," Jeremy said with that small red headed girl named Emma hooked to his side. She gave me a smile and I looked away. Her smile wasn't one filled with pity but happiness, and that's not something I wish to see right now, "We won't give up until we have her back," Jeremy finished and murmurs of agreement ran through our pack,

"I...I need to eat," I said lamely coming up with an excuse to get out of there. I worked my way to the kitchen where Jake was sitting at the table with a mug in his hands. it was pressed to his lips and he keep tilting it back until there was nothing left in it,

"The chances are slim," he said not looking at me, "17 hours have gone by.by they could be anywhere," Jake said running a and down his face,

"I know," I said honestly and actually respected Jake for being honest and not sugar coating anything,

"But I'm not giving up," He said rising from the table, "They could be anywhere, yes, but I'll search everywhere, we'll find them," he said solemnly and I sighed,

"We may be too late if we don't come up with some reasonable places to search," I noted turning to search the fridge for something to get in my system,

"She's strong Jem, she's a fighter," Jake said walking up and reaching in the back of the fridge bringing out a small chocolate cake and I smiled sadly,

"That's Celine's isn't it?" I found myself smirking and he smiled sadly,

"I think she'd be mad if we just let it go to waste," Jake shrugged and I nodded before getting to plates,

"I know she's strong," I said after we sat and began eating our slices of cake, "But it's her against the vampire and her rouges and Cristian and his wolves, the chances are stack against her," I said closing my eyes for a second, trying yet again to reach her through our bond, but heard silence in return. I sighed and Jake looked up from his plate,

"Still nothing?" he asked sounding concerned, and I shook my head, "No one else can reach her either,"

"It's different though, I should be able to at least sense her, know she's okay, but I can't even feel her...it's like she's...de-"

"She is not!" Jake's fist slammed against the table and I lowers my head, "Out of all people I'd think the last person to assume that would be you!" be shouted and I sighed,

"Can you blame me? If one day you just can't feel Cynthia anymore, can't hear her, would you not think the same?" I asked defeated and Jake's shoulders sagged,

"I'm sorry," he whispered and I rose from my seat, "What are we going to do?" he asked rising with me,

"We're going to find Celine," I said sternly and Jake's eyes held hope. That's what we needed right now, we need hope and a leader. I walked back into the room filled with hopeless wolves and stood in the middle of them, "In the absence of Alpha Astra, I ask that you put you faith in me, let me guide you as we work to bring our Alpha home," I said loud enough for everyone to hear and everything went still, then one by one everyone dropped into a bow.

'The next day' Still Jem's P.O.V

I woke up up alone...the pain in my chest that followed that observation was painful enough to bring tears to my eyes,

"Celine," I whimpered with my eyes closed,

"I've never seen you like this," I opened my here to see Jeremy standing there in the door way,

"Well my mate has never been kidnapped and unresponsive before," I said sitting up,

"Do you think sleeping in Celine's bed is a good idea?" he asked and I mentally shook my head, it wasn't a good idea, every time I've slept in this bed Celine has been with me,

"I'm fine," I muttered getting out of bed and grabbing my shirt before pulling it on,

"What are we doing today?" Jeremy asked and I stretched,

"Yesterday, I had Roger at her a group so they could search for anywhere Christian could be, any extra houses or relatives he has. the rest of the pack agreed to start small and check out his mansion to see if anything there could lead them somewhere," I finished and Jeremy nodded,

"Jake, Cynthia, Chase, the twins and I were going to go for a run, maybe back track to the field she as taken and try searching for a trail again, want to join us?" he asked and I shook my head slowly,

"No, I think I'm going to join the others in searching Christian's mansion, I can't go to the place I failed to protect her," I said putting my shoes on and I felt Jeremy grip my shoulder before he left with everyone else.

I went to the dresser to grab my phone and I saw a picture frame that was faced down. I picked it up and smiled at the picture. There was a man with dark brown hair and black eyes, he was smiling while holding a little girl that sort of resembled Celine only her hair was far darker, and standing next to him was a woman who had chestnut hair and big brown eyes, and there...standing next to her was Celine. I knew it was her, she looked exactly the same only a little younger. She was smiling happily, her smile brighter than the sun, her chocolate hair was blowing in the wind and somewhat covered her face, and that's when I noticed she didn't have a scar running down the side of her face.

I looked I dr the picture for a little while longer before I heard the door bell ring. I quickly walked down stairs and when I opened the door I saw Emma standing there holding an envelope,

"Jem," she said slightly bowing her head, her red hair falling and covering her face before she rose again, "I received a letter," she said hastily, pushing passed me and walking into the living room,

"From?" I raised an eyebrow and she frowned,

"Christian," she breathed the word and in a second I had the letter in my hand,

"Why would he send it to you?" I asked skeptically and she shrugged,

"In the letter he said he knew he could trust me, and that I was his favorite...he wanted me to join his wolves," she said dryly and I eyes her before opening the letter,

'Emma,

I hope you know better than the fools you are now calling your pack members. I know how special you are, how smart. you've always been my favorite, so hopefully you'll at least read this letter before making a decision. I would like for you to join me, stand by my side.

You'll have nothing to fear, not even Clara, the vampire. Nothing to worry about, you'll have such a bigger family and you'll never have to hide from enemies like you'll have to do for your now...newer pack. All you have to do is come to meet me.'

I continued to read the letter and finally reached the bottom where it had the address,

"I know the place," I said grabbing my cost before running outside and jumping in my car. Emma began banging on my window,

"If you aren't going to bring anyone at least let me tag along," she said rushing to the passenger side. I unlocked the door and allowed her to get in before taking off down the hill.

'Hold on Celine,' I willed her to hear, 'I'm coming dearest,'
