Usually, I could not wait for Fridays, and it would be a struggle for the day itself to come. However, Friday could not have come any faster.

"I hate today more than anything," I complain to Grayson as soon as I see him.

"Is there any particular reason for that?" Grayson asks, wriggling his eyebrows. "Just trying to lighten the mood here."

"Trust me, you're not going to make today any better for me than it should be," I sigh, opening my locker.

Yep, today was the day that I had to go visit my father in the park. What a wonderful way to reminisce! The park: the exact place where he never taught me how to ride a bike or push me on the swing set.

"Hey, let's not think about that," Grayson grins, pressing his forehead against mine with a smile.

I quickly pull back and look around the hallway in panic. People can't see us! Thankfully, no one seems to notice or care, for that matter.

"Gray, you know we can't do that in public," I remind him. Grayson sighs.

"I know, it's just that I haven't even gotten a chance to kiss you," Grayson points out. "We've been dating for three days, and I haven't even kissed you yet."

"Ah, I bet it's killing you on the inside," I joke, shutting my locker. "Well, maybe if you're actually still here after you meet my father, then we might be able to do that."

"Care, would you stop saying that?" Grayson asks. "You act like I'm just here for the kicks, and I'm not. I mean, I even stayed when your mom hated me."

"You don't understand, Gray," I sigh, looking down at the ground. "My father is ten times worse than my mom, and that isn't an exaggeration."

"We will come to that bridge when we cross it," Grayson reasons. The bell rings. "I'll see you at lunch, okay? Try not to get your panties in a pretzel before then."

"Bye," I huff. I quickly head off to my first hour class, which took me a long time to realize that Aaron was actually in this class.

Aaron tends to be a quiet guy when he's not with Ethan and Grayson, so he never really talks to anyone outside of them. It makes sense since everyone gives him crap about being their friend in the first place. He didn't even talk to me for the first week that he knew I was Grayson's friend.

"Hey Aaron," I greet him, taking my newfound seat next to him.

"There's something different about you and Gray," Aaron immediately says.

Why the heck does Aaron have to be so outwardly observant? It's like he can point out a snowflake falling from a mile away, and it's starting to creep me out a bit.

"Well, we have grown as friends over the time that we've gotten to know each other," I explain to him. "I've started getting the crap of being Grayson's friend, and it's drawn us closer, I guess."

"He likes you, you know?" Aaron asks me quietly. "It's in the video that they made Tuesday."

"Really?" I ask Aaron. Might as well not tell him. That's Grayson's job.

"Yeah, you're special to him," Aaron says with a smile on his face. "Did you know that?"

"Yeah," I answer quietly, smiling to myself.

Not like I would know that or anything.

"Don't hurt him. He means a lot to me. He stood by me all the times that people bullied me and harassed me, so I'm doing the same for him. I mean it when I say this Cara, Grayson hasn't been in a relationship, so he doesn't know what he's doing. He's going to fall, and he's going to fall hard," Aaron says.
