I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I reached for my phone and answered the call without bothering to check who is calling.
"Hello?" My head's throbbing in pain right now. I lightly massaged my forehead, maybe the heat was too much for me to handle.
"Finally Elle! I've been calling you for hours already, where are you?"
OMG It is Carly and by the sound of her voice she isn't so happy right now. "Easy there wild cat, I'm at a honey moon with my husband right now."
I slowly rose up from bed because my head still hurts. When I was already sitting at the edge of the bed I noticed that my wounded knee was tied up with a hanky.
I heard Carly was mumbling something on the line but I was too busy to even understand what she was saying.
Did Marco did this?
As far as I remember I fell asleep without this hanky on my knee.
A small smile crept on my lips thinking that he cured my wounded knee.
My husband cured my wound damn! A small taste of heaven for me.
I closed my eyes and touched my covered wound.
Something warm touched my heart as I remembered again the first time he did this small sweet gesture when I was a child.
"What the... Hello, earth to Elle!" I was snapped back from reality when Carly spoke from the other line.
I literally forgot about Carly! Goodness Marco really has this strong effect on me and I don't know how to get rid of this effect. It feels like it's stuck all over my system. I let out a sigh and spoke. "Well, I'm still here Carly. Don't worry I'll be fine."
"Really Elle? You'll be fine? I bet three days or hours from now you'd be crying and hurting again." Her voice was full of pity. No, I don't want her to pity me.
"Just give this to me Carly, promise I'll take care of myself." I said with a slight of disappointment on my tone because I know for a fact that Carly doesn't trust me on this.
They see me as the vulnerable and weakling Sydelle and I can't blame them for that. I just don't have enough confidence within me that I easily break down with such small things.
"Take care of yourself? Well good luck then, bet you could take care of your heart too." It was full of sarcasm that I just sat there silently listening to her nagging and scolding me making me a lot more stupid.
"Look Elle, I know you're feeling bad because I'm making you feel stupid but Elle you are like family to me and I don't want you to suffer. An innocent Angel like you don't deserve to get hurt Elle."
Upon hearing those I wanted to burst in tears. Oh good Lord thank you for giving me such wonderful friend. "I understand Carly, it is okay."
Carly on the other hand seemed to be holding out her sobs. I know because I could hear her on the other side of the line. I felt my heart crumpling into pieces. "Call me when you can't t-take the pain a-anymore is that clear Bestie?"
I gave out a light laugh when she spoke again as if she was holding herself from crying but she started to stutter already.
"Oh how am I going to live without you bestie?" I said to her cheerfully. Trying to ease the sad atmosphere enveloping.
I heard her chuckle before speaking and it made me smile too. "You know you can't. I'm going to hang up now, bye bestie love you."
"And I love you too bestie." We ended the call already and I went directly to the kitchen for I still have to cook for dinner.
