Chapter 22

"Why did you do that to that nerd earlier?" Mimi asked Mark. It was recess and he had been ignoring her the whole day.

"Which nerd?" 

"The kid with the glasses..." Mimi trailed off. Mark's eyebrows went up as if he really didn't had an idea about what she was talking about. "The kid that was hiding behind the box that you and Jackal Mac scared!"

"Oh, you mean Fred. Why? The nerd definitely deserved it."

"Okay, tell me why he deserved it then."

"He refused to do my homework."

"That's it?"

"Yeah. Pretty much," Mark said. "I'm guessing that's not the answer you wanted to hear, huh?"

Mimi shook her head roughly.

"Well don't blame me. He didn't want to do my homework and he knew what was going to happen to him if he didn't do it."

Mimi glared at Mark.

"Still not good enough?" Mark was beginning to laugh. 

"I still don't understand you! What's wrong with you? Were you abused when you were a kid? Were you ignored?"

"Define abused?" Mark had a playful tone in his voice. He really wasn't taking her seriously.

"God! You are such an Asshole!" Mimi wanted to take back her words.

"Wash your mouth. That is no way to talk about our dear lord."

"I wasn't talking about him. I was talking about you."

"Oh really?" Mark was laughing to himself.

"Yeah. You wanna know something Mark?"

"Yeah? What is it? I'm a big boy. I can handle anything sugar," Mark said.

"Well, I think you're a jerk, a moron, an idiot and a dick!" Mimi said before standing up and walking out.

Mimi could hear Mark laughing then stopped, she heard him sigh.

She walked out to the garden where she saw Megan and Oliver laughing again. They were playing Red Hands and Megan was obviously winning. Mimi walked over and greeted them. They gestured for her to sit next to them.

"Hey, Oliver. How long have you known Mark?" Mimi asked.

"Long enough to know him. Why'd you ask?" He turned to face her.

"I saw him beating up some poor kid earlier and... It was just so weird to know that he's really an Ass."

"Took you long enough to realize that. Anyway, why do you like hanging out with him? What is it about him that you find interesting?" Megan asked Mimi.

"Everything. He is the complete opposite of the guy I like, and it’s kinda cool."

"What's kinda cool is the fact that you're upset with him because you saw him doing what he does best." Oliver had a playful tone in his voice.

"I thought being in bed was his best," Megan sort of asked Oliver. He looked up at her and smiled.

"In order to prove that being GOOD in bed is his thing. You'd have to sleep with him. And since that option isn't really going to happen, we'll stick with him being a jerk as his best."

"Okay, that really is an option I will never consider in my life. Ever!"  Megan said and Mimi and Oliver laughed gleefully.

"So, since we have a free period and so does Megan. What do you want to do?" Oliver asked Mimi.
