Log Entry: Sol 29

Mark and I fixed the great big gapping hole in the Hab with some extra Hab canvas. The potatoes are ruined, Mark was furious I had to go calm him down.

Mark was really stressed last night he didn't get any sleep. He spent all night county the potatoes we had, constant checks on the new part of the Hab and checking in on me. I'm going to go work some more on my little rover buddy.

Log entry: Closed

I sat down on the ground and fiddled more with pathfinder until the camera started to move. I quickly ran to grab three signs one saying "DO YOU READ ME?" and the other two being either YES or NO.

"MARK!" I called out in excitement from in the centre of the Hab where the potatoes use to be.

"What?" He called out walking into the main area. His eyes focused on pathfinder and he ran over to me and hugged me picking me up and swinging me around. "Your genius!" He called in joy "God, I love you"

We both stared at each other the tension becoming awkward. I was still in his arms. He suddenly crashed his lips against mine, my eyes widened before I slowly began to kiss him back.

Pathfinder took a photo of the YES sign which we just HAD to be standing in front of. I quickly pulled away from him after a few good seconds, and walked over to pathfinder. "I can't believe I did it..." I murmured sitting on the floor next to it.

Mark walked over and knelt down beside me "looks like we have a chance, Adams"

"Indeed it does, Watney" she laughed.

Earth: JPL 12:51am

"Mr. Kapoor!" One of the employees called. "The photo came through!" He said with joy as he ran over to the printer. His smile faded when he picked up the picture.

"Well come on? Show me" he said.

The boy was hesitant but he showed Kapoor the photo. Kapoor happy expression turned to one of surprise. The boy bit his bottom lip as he waited for Vanket to say something.

"Well?" Teddy Saunders spoke up wanting to see the photo. Vanket handed him the photo. "So while where down here working our asses off we have two astronauts making out on Mars?" He said slightly angry.

"Well if I'm right I think they just broke a record!" One of the JPL employees spoke up seeing the bright side.

"We need to tell the commander, Teddy" Mitch said looking at the photo. "She blames herself for his death it will be better for them to know"

"No." He sternly said. "I'm not letting the crew know until we can talk to Watney and Adams in real time with no delays. Also tell them you stop snogging in space, we don't need to populate Mars..."
