Chapter 14 - Awkward Confession

Ze's P.O.V.

The next few days of the break went by pretty fast. Not much happened and eventually it was the day before thanksgiving. I still hadn't decided on if I wanted to go to Chilled's house tomorrow or not Chilled had tried to convince me but I still wasn't one hundred percent sure if I wanted to go. When I woke up Chilled was texting me trying one more time to get me to come.

Chilled: there's gonna be awesome food

Ze: Yeah but I feel like it's gonna feel awkward with your parents

C: Come on it won't be much fun without you there, plus it won't be that weird with my parents

Z: Ok fine, I'll go

C: Awesome!!

I knew that it probably wasn't going to be great tomorow, but it made Chilled happy and I suppose I'll have to meet them eventually. I have no idea if it's a formal thing so I'll ask Chilled later in person. I sat there thinking of what to do in the meantime. Ironically for being on break I didn't know what to do during it. Eventually Chilled arrived and we talked about tomorrow.

"So am I going to need anything fancy?"

"Nah, you'll be fine, don't worry about it." I still had no idea what it would be like so I asked several more questions about how any people would be there and what there'd be to eat. After learning everything I wanted about tomorrow, Chilled left and headed home. There were still a few hours left in the day and I again found myself with nothing to do. While thinking of something to do, I got a text from Ritz.

Ritz: Hey wanna join me, Minx, and Krism for some pizza?

Ze: Sure, I'll be there in a few minutes

I left the dorm and went to the pizza place that was close to the campus. I entered the restaurant and sat at the same table as the other three. They had already ordered and there was a pizza on the table for all of us to share.

"Glad you made it Ze!" Ritz greeted me as I sat down next to him. As we ate we talked. Apparently Minx and Krism were really close and had been dating for almost a year or so. After we were done eating and talking, Minx and Krism went back to their dorm while me and Ritz went back to our dorm. I walked into the dorm and sat down on the couch. I started to play some video games and Ritz sat down next to me. He seemed to be acting weird and somewhat nervous.

"Do you wanna play?" I didn't know what else to say so that was all I could think of.

"Huh? Oh uh, no thanks." He seemed to have zoned out. "There's actually something I've been wanting to say." He took a deep breath and paused for a moment. "We've known each other for a few months and I don't know how you feel, but I've started to develop feelings for you and I just needed to tell you."

"Oh uhh..." I had no idea how to respond to his confession of love. I didn't really have feelings for Ritz like that, but I didn't want to completely shoot him down and ruin our friendship. "I-uh-i don't know what to say, I just-"

"You just don't have feelings for me like that?;I figured you didn't but I had to tell you anyway, I know you're probably not even gay, but if I let the feelings build up inside it wouldn't have been good."

"I'm sorry Ritz."

"No, I'm sorry about this." Ritz got up and went into his room and shut his door behind him. It all happened so fast that I was still processing it. I figured that there was nothing else to do and tried to forget about it I went to bed and thought Ritz would talk to me again about it if he wanted to.
