Chapter 15: Sickness Sucks... Sometimes

Hey guys I'm back!!! I know I haven't updated this in a while mostly because of school and I was working on my other story but I'm going to make it up to you. So here's the next part!! I dedicate this chapter to MISCHEVIOUS_ !! Enjoy!!!!

(Mem's POV)

I was already down in the kitchen finishing up breakfast when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. It had to be Katie she was always up around this time. I turned around anticipating to see my favorite girl in the universe but instead saw Zen.

I jumped a little and said "You're not Katie." Zen looked at me weirdly and said "Sorry to disappoint you Romeo." He then smirked at his comment causing me to blush. Zen recently figured out my major crush on Katie and now constantly teases me about it. At first I honestly thought that Zen loved Katie too but when I asked him he said he did but like a younger sister. At least I don't have to worry about that.

"Okay this is just weird. You are never up before Katie so why are you up so early?" Zen pointed at the clock and said "Dude, I woke up at my normal time. Maybe Kat just overslept or something." I looked over at the clock and sure enough it was 9 and Kat is usually up by six. "We better go wake her up." I said as Zen and I walked up the stairs.

I opened the door to her room to see it completely dark and empty except for the large mound covered in blankets on her bed. That had to be Kat.

Before we could either walk over to her and get her up we heard her start to cough and groan as if she was in pain. Zen and I looked between each other with worry in our eyes as we approached her. "Kat are you okay?" I asked. She turned over to look at us and she looked awful but she sat up and said "Yeah guys I'm fine, I just overslept." She sounded really congested and of course we didn't believe her. She was never one to tell someone if she felt bad.

I sat down on her bed and put the back of my hand to her forehead but pulled it back cuz I swear I touched fire. "Katie you are not fine! You're burning up!" I said. She sighed and defeatedly said "Fine, I'm sick but it's just a cold. Nothing major." "You're still staying here today though and in bed." Zen said crossing his arms. "Yes Dad." She said sarcastically. I looked at her and smiled a little and said "Get some rest." I swear I saw her cheeks turn pink a little but she nodded and Zen and I left the room.

Once we got down stairs Zen turned to me and said "Do you think we should cancel training today?" "Nah, the noobs definitely need the practice, besides we said we teach them how to control their battleballs remotely. They were so excited, especially after what happened at the museum last week." "Yeah but we can't leave Katie here alone." "Okay then, you go and train the noobs and I'll stay here and look after Katie. Besides, you're better at remote controlling your battleball anyway." I said.

Zen raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms. "And this has nothing to do with the fact that you'll get to spend the whole day with Kat alone?" I scratched the back of my neck sheepishly and said "Noooooo, I'm just doing it to help a friend." Zen looked unconvinced and said "Uh-huh sure whatever you say lover boy. I'll tell the noobs training will be at the Galacticus today so I'll see you later." He walked out the door I fist bumped the air and yelled "Yeeesssss!"

(Katie's POV)

Today just sucks and I mean SUUUUCCCKKKSSS!!! Kryptonians hardly ever get sick thanks to our advancements in medicine. Hell we already cured cancer!! But Earth is different. They have made advancements into medicine but not even close to the level the Krypton was on. In some ways I think Earth and Krypton can benefit from each other but Earth would not take well to aliens yet and my parents are just stubborn.
