THE RECOVERY

KYLAS POV

I was so happy to be in Cole's arms again. It had taken everything I had to distract Travis and thank the moongoddess it worked. I heard the howling as Cole ripped him limb from limb. I knew it would be gruesome so I shut my eyes and tried to block the sound as much as possible. Nigel and Brian were fighting at the as well and I it was just as horrific.

Now that everything was over there was only one thing that bothered me and that was Jana. I was afraid for her. I also was nervous about the state of her wolf. I didnt know if it was possible for someone to loose their wolf or if they would even survive if they did.

I knew how much Jana wanted her wolf and she would be devastated if she had to live without it. I silently cried on Coles shoulder as ge picked me up bridal style and carried me to the car. Nigel had already carried Jana to the car and she was laying limp on his lap as he too shed silent tears.

My heart ached for him when I saw how broken he looked. He held her close and sobbed knowing that he would go insane if he were to loose her. Cole was rubbing circles on my back and whispering sweet nothings in my ear trying calm as he held me tighter.

My body was weak and I was emotionally drained. I didnt know at what point I passed out but when I woke up I was in a hospital bed.

Cole was holding my hand when I opened my eyes. "How you feeling baby?" he asked. "Much better especially since your here with me" I told him honestly.

"Wheres Jana?" I asked him almost starting to panic. How was she? Did she wake up? How long had I been asleep? Those were just a few of the questions on my mind.

"Calm down sweetheart. I can hear your thoughts and your heart rate is increasing. She is still unconcious and Nigel hasn't eaten or slept in the last couple days which is how long you have been asleep. I tried to reason with him but he won't budge not that I blame him. We can go see them after you eat and get dressed. The doctor says that he doesnt know how long she will be unconcious. Her wolf is fighting but it is hard since she didn't complete the shift. Either they both will make it or the both will be lost. If she does wake, which I know she will, then she will immediately have to complete the shift" he explained.

It was a lot to take in. After he brought me some food and I finished eating he kissed my hand and said "You get ready. I'll wait outside"

I climbed out of bed and went to shower. Cole had picked me out some clothes for me to wear and the warm water from the shower was smoothing.

I walked out the door where Cole waited and we got into his car and headed to my old packhouse. When we got there my parents and brother were there to greet us.

"My baby im so glad your alright" my mom said locking me in a death grip. "Honey let her breathe" my dad said as he freed me from my moms grasp. He kissed my forehead and said "Baby girl I was so worried I dont know what I would have done if I lost you. I love you so much"

"Im fine Daddy and I love you too" I said standing on my tip toes to kiss his cheek.

"You really scared me baby sis dont ever do it again" Jace pulling me into his one of a kind bear hug. "Dont worry I wont. I wouldnt want to scare my big beta brother again. You have to keep up your fearless reap"

"Your damn right and I rather not have to save your ass under daily basis to do it"

"JACE" my mom said appaled by his language. "Sorry Mom"

"You may be beta now but I am still your mother you will show respect young man" she said pulling him by the ear and marching him inside. I laughed at the two of them as my Dad shook his head. Cole was laughing as well.

The laughter didnt last long as we made our way into the house and to the third floor where the patients were kept. The sight was not pleasant when we entered.

Jana was hooked to all kinds if machines and monitors. I wasnt fond of hospitals so it hurt to see her that way. Nigel looked like hell. I had never seen him so helpless and he sat in a chair next to her holding her hand.

He barely looked up when we went in. "Sweetheart please come back to me" he said pushing the hair from her face.

I walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Dont worry she'll pull through" I said praying my words were true. "How do you know for sure?" he asked sounding distant. "I dont" I said truthfully. "I just know she is a fighter and I have faith in her. She loves you Nigel. Her and her wolf will do anything to get back to you. You just have to have faith"
