MAN OF MY DREAMS

THE VERDICT

Cole and I had been talking about the consequences of letting Megans (that's the girls name) mate into the pack all night. Cole still didn't think it was a good idea and to be honest I wasn't to thrilled with the idea myself.

However I wanted to give them a chance. They were mates and wanted desperately to be together. We were on our way to the diner and Cole was deep in thought.

We went in and spotted Megan sitting next to a guy with sandy hair and a five o clock shadow that said he hadn't shaved in a while. Megan looked nervous and the guy looked unfazed.

I took in the scenery and realized the place was mostly vacant and everyone inside was a were. I was grateful. It was best there were no humans were around just in case things didn't go as planned. Maybe Cole had thought ahead and made sure no humans would be around.

"This is my mate Travis" Meagan finally said not bothering to meet either of our gaze. "Cut the bullshit. Tell me why your really here Travis. What the hell do you want?" Cole spat not bothering with formalities.

"I'm here for my mate of course why else would I be here?" "You tell me" Cole said immediately. "There is always some hidden agenda with you bastards. I'm only going to say this once. Touch Kyla and it will be the last thing you ever do" he growled.

His wolf was about to surface just from the thought. I grabbed his hand and pulled him into my neck so he could inhale my scent. "Calm down baby nobody's taking me anywhere" I said to him soothingly. "Your damn right because I won't allow it. I know how this goes. They always want something and it usually has to do with the Luna. But not this time, your mine" he said fighting his wolf for control.

"I have no desire to kidnap your mate. I came here to be with mine what don't you understand" Travis said. Cole stood up and flipped the table.

"WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS WHY THE FUCK YOU WONT TAKE HER WITH YOU IF SHES WHAT YOU CAME FOR. WHY THE HELL DO YOU WANT INTO MY PACK" He was loosing it. I grabbed his waist and his breathing slowed down a little. "Baby your making a scene" I said trying to get his attention.

The few weres in the diner had stopped to stare. He looked at me and his eyes softened turning in a dark brown. He kissed me on the lips roughly before saying though our mindlink "Look baby I know this may sound crazy but I don't trust him. Everything in me is telling me he's trouble"

"I understand baby but you can't loose control" I told him. I looked over to see Megan on the verge of tears. I could tell she remembered what Cole said he would do if he saw Travis as a threat. Things did not look good.

However the way this guy was looking at me was really starting to creep me out so I was feeling less sentimental.

"I should just kill you now and spare myself the headache" said Cole to Travis.

The coldness and seriousness of his tone was enough to chill even my bones.

"But sense you are her mate I won't kill you, yet. Just know that from this point on you will be watched. One wrong move and you are dead. The only time you are allowed on my territory is with scheduled visits. If you are caught on my territory without my permission you will die. Do I make myself clear?"

"Crystal" Travis said with a smirk. "Good lets go Kyla. One more thing before I go Travis. Look at my mate again and I will rip your ass apart piece by piece"

We walked out of the diner back to the car. "Baby I'm sorry" Cole said pulling me closer. "Its okay" I told him enjoying the closeness of our bodies. "I don't like him. My wolf wanted to kill him on the spot. I hate to make someone go through the pain of loosing their mate but that guy has a death wish"

We drove back to the house and Cole seemed a lot happier. We were planning on just relaxing and enjoying the day together when the phone rang half way there.

I watched as Coles mood changed rapidly. "Dammit" he said spinning the car into a u-turn so fast I almost got whiplash.

"What's wrong" I asked worriedly. "We have to cross the border and get to Nigel. Janas been kidnapped"
