Day 59- The first failed day?

I was still getting threats from people for the party I hosted. Each text I received, I responded back by saying: "Lol its just a party chill." This got people more fired up, so I eventually blocked their number. Hey, I had to do what I had to do.

My mom knew what was happening because some people messaged her on FaceBook asking why I was so lame. My brother couldn't make any eye contact with any tenth grader without getting a remark about how he should've taught me better. He's not my parent!

It was noon time, and I asked my mom if she could make an appointment for me to get a permit. Well, I guess it isn't that easy.

My mom yelled at me for thinking that I can just... I don't know. I just know that she didn't need to yell at me.

I sat on my bed, looking at the plan. I needed to get something else together, but I didn't know what. Maybe I can be the Tenth Grade Formal Queen. Who knows?

But... Wasn't I popular enough? I mean, everyone knows who I am and all. I did throw a party, and I'm the me I want to be. But.. That's not enough.

I picked up my pen and wrote down the first idea that popped in my head for tomorrow. Maybe it will knock me back down, but who really cares?

Day 60- Get back with old friends.

I did it. I said it, I wrote it down, everything. No one can stop me from saying what I just said and I was proud of it. Go me!

One thing I noticed about all the girls was that they were all on a sports team, and that also attracted boys. Boys were a key to popularity... Right?

Outdoor track sign ups were soon. Maybe I could sign up for that.

Day 61- Get on a sports team, but to be more specific, TRACK

If I get on the team, and the rumor spreads, maybe more boys will be attracted to me. Wow, my life has come to this.

I folded up my piece of paper and put it away. I didn't need it anymore, I couldn't really think of anything when it came to boys.

My mom knocked on my door, and she came in with her iPad. She silently sat down on my bed and showed me a message on FaceBook. It was really weird, an account that was called 'McKenna's Fanpage' sent her a message. I took the tablet away from her and read the messages between the two.

McKenna's Fanpage: hello, mrs. jones. we are an anonymous group of people that support mckenna and doesn't think she sucks (take that in any way you want). please show her this and let her know that she has a group of people who still love and support her... even if we don't talk as much as before.

My Mother: Oh, that's wonderful! Thank you for accepting my daughter! May I ask who this is?

McKenna's Fanpage: if you read the last sentence, she'll know right away.

These people were right. I did know who they were. I handed my mom her iPad back and stood up.

"Mom, may you drive me to Tayah's?"

--

Ten minutes later, I was standing in front of a cute little house, with multiple cars, people, and dogs. Tayah sat on her front porch, rocking in the rocking chair, staring at nothing. As soon as she saw the car, she got up from her chair and ran inside.

I got out and chased after her into the house, pushing past multiple people. I couldn't find her, but what do I expect for her being so close to the door, and me being so far away?

There was one room, however, I knew she would go in. It was a little closet by the basement door that had good lightning and comfortable space. She told me that was her hiding spot to escape from the world. She even kept some magazines in there, and would occasionally bring in her laptop.

I went to the closet and heard her talking on the phone to someone. I didn't bother opening the door, but listened to the conversation she was having with the person.

"I know we said that, but I didn't expect her to like, come all the way to my house. I thought she'd say a little thank you in school tomorrow and go back to trying to be her popular little self. But... She didn't. She came all the way to my house to personally thank me."

I smiled in satisfaction to myself.

"...I know... I ran away only because... I know I should talk to her... But now is not the best time, I mean, we have family over for my little sister's birthday... I don't feel like talking to her right now. I'm getting out of this room and telling her to go home."

That was my cue to go. I ran out of the area as fast as I could and back to my mom's car. About three seconds after I positioned myself against the hood of the car, she ran out and over to me.

"Look, I don't know what you're doing here, but you need to leave, now. I don't know what got into you to make you drive all the way here, but I'm ticked off and don't feel like talking to you. It's my sister's birthday, okay, I would love to just celebrate her and be with my family without having to deal with someone like you."

She turned around and started to walk away, but I put my hand around her arm. She slowly turned around and snatched her arm away from me. "What? I thought I told you to get lost!"

"Look, Tay, I know it's really you who put together my fan page. Don't act like you aren't the one who hasn't talked to me in a while, but misses me. I know it's you and no matter what you say, you can't lie and convince me it's not you. Do you understand what I am saying, or do I have to say it a little louder because my head is too high above the clouds?"

That was so rude. I can't believe I just said that.

"What do you mean your head is too high above the clouds? Are you okay, do you need water?"

"It means I know that you think that all I care about is being popular! It's true, but I also care about my friendship with you!"

"What? McKenna I-"

I didn't want to listen to it. I ran into my mom's car, locked the door, and watched Tayah's shocked face as we pulled away.
