I walked out of band, Annastasia's talk with me still flashing in my mind. Nothing ever made me so upset like that. Well, technically, I have seen some worse events than what I experienced. It still made me feel upset.

I had Spanish next, which was in the 10th-Grade Hall. I quickly rushed to my locker, grabbed my stuff, and strolled into the room. I bumped into a very tall girl with a pair of skinny jeans, flip flops, and a nice purple shirt. She turned around, a smug look on her face.

"Newbie. Thanks for bumping into me," she said loudly as she chewed her gum. Spit sprayed all over my face. "I'm Jean, wanna come sit with me and my friends? We sit in the back, but that's okay, right?"

I nodded. Someone actually wanted me to sit with them, and I didn't even have to beg them. "I would love to come sit with you Jean! I'm McKenna!" I stuck out my hand, and Jean shook t, walking to a desk with her other friends. I sat in the front of them all, next to Jean.

"So, McKenna, wanna come over to our house after?"

"Our?" I asked.

Jean blew a big bubble with her gum and popped it with her sharp nail. Her phone started to ring in her pocket. "Hold on a sec. It's my mom. She loves talking to me when I'm in school! I get in trouble a lot for it." Jean whipped out her phone. "What, mom?"

"Ugh, bread? What are we having for dinner- I don't want carbs-But can a friend come over?-She's new-Mom she is really nice-Trust me..."

This went on and on for one whole minute, when the bell rang and the teacher walked in. She was a middle-aged woman, who had very messy hair, and a dress on. Her glasses fell down to her nose, and her teeth were a bright yellow.

"Hola, señors y señoritas. Me llamo Señorita Harvey!" She scanned around the room with wild eyes until they landed on me. "Y tú, señorita en Español?" She smiled and I gulped.

"Me llamo McKenna," I said stupidly, trying not to laugh. Jean looked over at me and smiled. She must know that I felt almost uncomfortable. The teacher's smile grew on her face. She clapped her hands.

"Bién, bién! Té gusta manzanas? En Español, por favor."

This was very simple, basic Spanish. I stifled a laugh and replied, "Err, sí, me gusta manzanas." Jean and her crew were laughing hysterically now. They weren't doing it because they hate me, but because of how stupid and silly everything was.

"Okay, very good. Well, hello everyone! My name is Ms. Harvey, as you all know. I just want to go over some basic Spanish stuff with you all before we begin our first lesson.

"So, as you all know, we will be going through your toughest Spanish year yet. But that doesn't mean it will come with rewards. And that doesn't mean you have harder stuff coming on in your later years. We have field trips once a month, in Spanish III, IV, and V.

"First, in September. On September 30, we are going to go to a Spanish restaurant and experience classic Spanish dining first-hand. The cost will be $50 per person, since obviously it will be very expensive.

"In October, on October 28, we are going to go see a Silent Movie from Spain. This is free admission because it is in a park and free. You are all able to pack your own snacks, but choose wisely. No alcohol.

"In November, on November 18, we are going to watch a Spanish play. The cost is $10. It is Romeo and Juliet Spanish style." Ma. Hanvey put a hand over her heart. "Everything is much more beautiful that way.

"In December, on December 23, we are going to go see a Christmas show. It's not in Spanish, but a Christmas show. Wring out 2015 the right way. Oh, and by the way, it's Elf the Musical. Fun, fun, fun!

"On January 27, for the rest of the other months, too, we are seeing Spanish movies. Except in May, we are going to be going to Spain and Mexico. May 23-June 3."

I gasped. I did not want to go at all. Educational field trip in a different country? No thanks. Not to mention, I was going to fly over an ocean with a crowd of rowdy people at such a young age. That screamed no all over the place and I didn't like it.

"Alright, that's that. So, kids, we are going to play a game. You guys like games, right? Okay. So this is something I came up with. I'm going to give you each a piece of paper with a Spanish word. I'm also going to give you a card without a word. You have to find each the matching cards silently."

Half of the class groaned, including Jean, who threw her head back. A boy behind her planted a kiss on her forehead. I could tell they were dating, but didn't want to make a big scene about it. It was disgusting.

"Jean! Sit up straight! Okay, go ahead!"

Jean laughed. She was told to sit up straight when she was about to stand up? People were crazy. I yawned loudly and walked to a girl who was standing alone. I looked at her cards, which were labeled, "Fiesta" and "Head." I was shocked how easy the words were.

My cards had "Party" and "Cabeza." We smiled at each other and nodded. Ms. Harvey came over and smiled at the two of us, proud of our work. We sat down in the chairs at the two desks we stood at, staring at the floor.

It was a nice quiet until someone screamed, "OW!"

I turned my head to see Jean holding a bloody hand. I was confused as to what happened.

"Oh, Jean, c'mon! Did you staple your hand again?"

My ears perked up. Stapled her hand? Again? And what was she stapling?

The whole class was doubled over in laughter. The girl next to me was practically crying. I took a gulp of air and started too laugh, too. It sounded fake and high-pitched, and I earned weird stares from my trying.

"McKenna! Please take Jean down to the nurse!"

I stood up immediately and held the door open to the bleeding Jean. She had a scowl on her face and a look of pain. I actually felt kind of bad for her. I wanted to ask what happened the first time she stapled her hand.

"Er, hey Jean?" I asked bravely.

"Whaty?" She said, crying out in pain.

"What happened the first time?"

Her face turned as red as fire and I swear smoke was coming out of her ears. "That first time was two years ago! This kid had a huge crush on me, and he wanted to tease me so he stapled my hand. I stapled my hand because we were reenacting it and it was an accident!"

I laughed harder than I should have.

But what kind of friendship did I just get myself into?
