song of the chapter: end of the day// one direction

I finished off my story thar I had told my mom. It was about today's current events. My mom raised an eyebrow and leaned back on our couch. "Sounds like you had an interesting day," she said, raising an eyebrow.

"I know! It was awful," I replied. "The worst part about everything was that Dolly didn't even apologize. She just kept showing off her body and it really made me uncomfortable. I don't know Mom. This school is weird."

"You have no other choice," she said. "But, you made a good choice of getting away from her. She sounds like an insane alcoholic. Try to make new friends tomorrow, and if that doesn't work out, just keep trying. I know Annastasia was mean to you today, but one day, she'll look back, and think, 'Why was I so mean to McKenna? She's the coolest girl in school!''"

"Yeah, but, you aren't thinking of this the right way. I don't want to be friends with Annastasia because I made the right friends or because I changed. I want to stay me. I want to have my own personality. And that's.... Me."

My mom nodded, and continued to cook the chicken on the stove.

"Do you understand this, any of this?" I asked my mom.

She shrugged. When she shrugs, it clearly means that she doesn't care at all.

I rolled my eyes at her and got off the stool to walk to my room. I swung open my door and laid on my bed, where most every scream since I have moved has been screamed. I didn't need to do the English homework I was assigned since technically, that wasn't due for two days.

I missed Bella. A lot. She was my rock. She got me through practically everything at school. In eighth grade, some boy pretended to ask me to the semi formal. I said yes, all flattered, but then, at the dance, he was dancing with another girl. When I asked him what happened, he said that it was all a joke. I started to cry and Bella punched him square in the nose.

Another time, someone pushed me to the ground, then yelled, "I pushed the Fatty down!" After that, they ran away.

Bella hunted them down and shoved him to the ground. I didn't like physically hurting others, so I just stayed back and watch my best friend kick him around like a rag doll. She got two days worth of suspension, but so did he.

And the last big thing she ever did for me was last year. It was the last day of school and someone handed me a note that said, "no one is gonna like you at your new school, bitch."

Bella spent four days trying to find the person that did it. I helped her. The day we found the person, we got her into so much trouble. She is suspended for a week. My old school was extremely rough, so it didn't surprise me that she got suspended.

"Kenna, dinners ready!" My mom called. I didn't respond and just sat in bed. Why was everything so awful.

"Kenna, don't be like this!" My mom called again. "Meet us in the dining room, please!" I still just sat there. I didn't care. I hated everything right now.

"McKenna Jones, come here right now before I take away your phone!" I bolted straight up off my bed and ran towards the dining room. There was no way she was taking away my phone!

I sat down at the dining room. My plate was full of my dinner, which I ate quickly because I wanted to text Bella.

I got up and went back to my room silently. My phone was ringing, so I picked it up. It was a junk mail number. Maybe they would want to be friends with me.

I went on to my phone to me and Bell's conversations. I read through some of our really old ones. We were talking about her ex-boyfriend, Matt. He dumped her for a popular girl named Charlotte. Charlotte and my old friend, Riley were really close friends.

I started to text my best friend. I missed her. Me: Bella Brown, I swear if I don't see you for another day I'm gonna die. Everyone here is awful and I miss you so muchhhhhh :(

Bella replied instantly. I loved when she did. Bella: MCKENNA JONES I MISS YOU SO MUCH OH MY GOSH :(( You're missing a lot. Guess who just asked me out? Ryan #2! If it was Ryan #1 it'd totally be a no because ewwwww!

Me: That's great to hear you're holding up good in your neck of the woods! But you'll never guess what happened. I made a friend. And I thought she'd be nice. But she actually lives in the projects, she drinks, smokes and her mom is a ________.

I didn't want to tell Bella what kind of profession her mom was in, because she hates those people. So when she asked me, I was scared.

Bella: What's her mom? Please tell me not a dancer at a club because I swear, McKenna Jones, that I will fly on a plane and knock some sense into her because eww

Me: You guessed right! And guess what!!! She kept showing off her outfit. To ME! I was like, ew no! Please no! And she offered me wine and I wanted to cry!!!!!

Bella didn't respond. I know she was probably upset with this person because we both get really uncomfortable. One time, we saw it happen. We were walking around town and one lady was doing it outside. To get people attracted into the club. We were scarred for life after.

Me: Bells. You don't understand what I went through at that house! I left at 3:30, so I was there for like 45 minutes but it was seriously a torture house. If I just didn't move then I wouldn't have this problem. :(((

Still no response. I sighed and shut off my phone. All I know is that I'm 15, I have one friend that lives in California, I just moved here, and my life sucks. My only "friend" in Oregon is a smoker, drinker, and her mom is insane.

Me: Am I ever gonna be okay... Or is it going to be like this forever?
Bye Bella.

Why I chose End of The Day: Because of that last paragraph McKenna was thinking. All she knows is that and in the song, it goes, "all I know at the end of the day..." So that's where that inspiration is from.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter! We didn't make it to two comments or three votes. Can we try that this chapter? Thanks!

Bye everyone!
