Prologue

 Life had a funny way of making Scarlett regret all her decisions. They say 'follow your heart' and Scarlett did just that but unfortunately the girl had a strange attraction to trouble. She somehow managed to draw distress to her life even more. It’s clearly a case of misfortune, but all this and more of life’s noticeable hammerings to her didn’t faze her ability to still go on and make a bigger mess out of a considerably small one. And that’s exactly how she ended up stalking a stalker (yes, she is that stupid) and getting herself dragged in a place where most certainly no one would wish to be.

 Scarlett Winget, known for her infamous unlucky fate yet most endearing and alluring personality found herself in yet another tedious situation. The twenty-one year old brunette, who could have stayed in her dorm and planned a relaxing weekend with her friends but fate wouldn’t want it that way. She decided to have a walk and mindlessly entered a lane which screamed ‘you don’t want to walk here’, in the evening. May be it would have been not so much of a bad idea if she would have just paced and reached her dorm faster by that lane but she couldn’t help but follow a suspicious and scary looking man who was carrying a gun in his hand and looked like he was chasing someone.  What do you do when you see such a terrifying scene before you? Yes, you run. Sure Scarlett knew that, but who would have thought she had a minor flaw in what mommy taught her about keeping aloof of strangers. She did run but not in the opposite direction of where the stranger was going, but Au contra-ire she followed ‘trouble’ itself.

  When you have lived most of your life void of all feelings except for anger and hate; it’s hard to learn all other worldly emotions. One usually blames life for the way they are and they are not always wrong in the accusation. Like, Ryan who had a life everyone would love to experience for the thrill of it, but only he could tell because it wasn’t always the adrenaline rush he fancied. But that was Ryan before he was on his own or without no one to go back home to. It was before his family died, it could have been called an unfortunate demise of his loved ones but he knew better. Because of the very same reasons, he detached himself from everything but his work.

 The dark yet appealing and intimidating personality of his was a mystery to everyone, he knew it very well but he vowed of keeping it that way and never let anyone solve the puzzle his life had become. He managed that so far, but once while doing his so called job he found himself dragged in a very irritating company and in a troublesome condition. First of all irritating because of an idiot,  annoying girl and he could go on with profanities but it would have been a waste of his precious time just like she was. Secondly, the dimwitted girl had somehow managed to grind him in her stuck- up life of misfortunes.

The most dangerous of his enemies and objective from years were all on their guard now and were on to do anything in their power to stop him. His secret was not just his but belonged to more than a group of people; he was not something an everyday twenty-six year old man would be. He couldn’t let another soul know about him, he was instructed to take care of that.

 All this and many things were endangered just because a girl fancied stalking a stalker; he could have handled another living soul. Oh- he has surely ‘handled’another being well until now. But all thanks to the girl- He somehow managed himself to feel more of the only feelings he ever felt- anger and hate and to add up to those were frustration and irritation. The girl sure could cause havoc in his life but the cover he had made to protect his reality was not going to deter. His gloomy and showy life was a curtain to his actuality and he was not letting the curtains down anytime soon.
