Right Place, Right Time

Chapter Two

Break time arrived and the teachers all made their way to the staff room. As usual Shannon waited for Chloe outside her classroom to walk there together. Shannon and Chloe were best friends and have been since they started working at the school nine years ago. "Hiya Shann, you okay?" Chloe greeted happily as she left her classroom. "I'm great, yourself?" She replied. Chloe nodded. They entered the staff room together, made a cup of tea, grabbed some biscuits and sat down next to each other on the sofa. The head teacher, Jenny Watson, walked into the room with a gentleman. "Morning everyone, this is Chris Evans, he's our new Drama teacher who's just started today." She introduced. Chris smiled warmly. "He's gorgeous Shann, look at him." Chloe quietly whispered into Shannon's ear. Shannon raised her eyebrows at her suggestively. Chris has short brown hair and a faint beard at his face. His eyes were blue and was handsome and looked very smart in his suit. He sat next to Chloe with his drink and shook her hand. "Hi, I'm Chloe, this is Shannon, we teach English and History." Chloe smiled. "Nice to meet you both." He answered politely. Chris talked to Chloe all break and lunch time. They got on extremely well and feelings started to develop. "I hope this isn't to personal for me to ask but, are you single?" Chris wondered awkwardly scratching his head looking deeply into her eyes. "Yes, you?" Chloe spoke back confidently. Chris nodded smiling. He looked anxious again as he thought up his next question. "So, would you like to have dinner with me sometime?" He said nervously. "Sure, I'm free tomorrow night." She beamed feeling butterflies in her stomach. Chris looked relieved. "7 O clock then? I'll pick you up if that's okay." Chloe nodded and wrote her address on a piece of paper and handed it to him. Chris grinned and left. Chloe felt very pleased and Shannon gave her a very rewarding high-five as a congratulations of pulling a hot guy. 

After school Shannon went to her favourite cafe as her daughter was at choir practise for the next hour. She ordered her usual which was a cup of tea with a giant cherry bakewell. She took her seat by the window and started marking the homeworks. "Excuse me ma'am, there are no available seats, mind if I join you?" A gentleman asked her politely. She carried on marking the work, not looking at him once but eventually answered "Sure, knock yourself out." She heard the chair scrape across the floor and the stranger put his drink down on the table and sigh. "I'm Channing by the way, and your name is?" Channing introduced. Shannon looked up from her work and was surprised of how attractive he was. "Um, nice to meet you, I'm Shannon." She replied shyly bewildered by his appearance. Channing grinned revealing his pearly white teeth. His hair was light brown and styled to the side, spiked up slightly and his eyes were light green. "Teacher ey? What do you teach? If you don't mind me asking of course." He wondered as he watched her mark the sheets in front of her. "Yeah and History, these are all pre-essays. Hard work." She smiled. Channing returned the smile and said "Must be a great job, I'm a band manager, it's pretty cool I guess, get to go to free concerts all the time." Shannon nodded in interest. They carried on talking for ages. "Can I get you a drink?" Channing offered flirtatiously. Shannon looked at her watch and realised she had ten minutes to go and pick Savannah up. "I need to go now, maybe another time?" She flirted back happily. "Tomorrow night?" He suggested confidently looking deeply into her eyes. "Sure, meet me here at six?" She beamed. Channing nodded and they said their goodbyes and Shannon went to pick up her daughter with a huge smile on her face. 

Jaydon and Savannah both felt happy when their Mums announced about the dates, they hadn't seen them that happy in a while.
