Right Place, Right Time

Chapter Twelve

The week after the romantic proposals Chris and Channing had organised another surprise for their girlfriends and also Jaydon and Savannah that would change their lives completely.

Chris picked up Chloe and Jaydon that morning. They all dressed very casually as Chris had instructed. Chris wore a plain sea blue t-shirt and jeans, Chloe wore a white jumper with 'LOVE' written across it in blue letters and neon blue jeans and vans. Jaydon wore his Thor t-shirt and black 3/4 shorts and trainers. After an hour drive which consisted of a long game of 'I-Spy' and 'Guess The Crime' they arrived at secret location. It was quite a large building but had no sign. "Where are we?" Chloe asked out of curiosity. "Follow me and you'll see." Chris replied. She and Jaydon obeyed and followed him inside where he led her to the reception. "Name please sir?" The reception lady asked politely. "Christopher Evans." The lady looked down her list before nodding and pointed to a door to go through.

Confused Jaydon and Chloe went through the door after Chris. It was a small office with pictures of children all around it on the walls. They all sat down and were soon joined by another lady with auburn hair who had a lot of folders in her hand. "Morning Chris, would you like me to explain to your fiancee and her son what your idea was?" She wondered. He nodded. "Miss Murs, Chris rang me up last week to give a great idea for you and him. This is an Girls adoption centre ages 2 all the way to 9. He wondered if you'd like to adopt a daughter together." Chloe was surprised, She grinned widely and said "That would be amazing, yes!" The lady then smiled before opening the 6 folders in front of them which showed every girl and all about them. "Look at the girls and decide who you shall adopt, you're allowed to change their names of course, we gave them their names."

Chris, Chloe and Jaydon looked at each girl carefully. The options were; Chelsea Greene aged 2, cheeky and rude, Anna Davies aged 6, spoilt but nice girl, Carly aged 4, well mannered and loves drawing and singing, Danielle Hunter aged 9, over emotional and has bad attitude, Toni Smith aged 7, hates music, loves video-games, Holly Kacen aged 3, loves making inappropriate sexual related noises (learned from Danielle) and screams for no reason. After looking through the folders carefully they made their decision. "We'd like to adopt Carly Jones please." Chloe announced. "Fabulous choice, she's a lovely little girl. Would you like to meet her now? Of course you can't take her home just yet." They all nodded. The lady then went to fetch her.

Minutes later the lady returned with Carly holding her hand. "Carly, these are your new family." The lady explained to her. A huge smile painted on her face and she hugged and thanked them. She was a pretty little girl. She had very long light blonde hair which hung in spiralled curls. Her eyes were a chocolate brown and her side fringe was clipped to the side with a small bow. She wore a floral coral dress and slip on ballerina styled shoes. "Before we fill out the forms, would you like to change her name?" The lady questioned. Chloe whispered to Chris a suggestion and he agreed "Skylar Rose Evans please." Chris spoke back happily. She quickly wrote it down on the paper. "Okay. You can collect Skylar on Friday at 4:30pm. Before you go can you sign this, also is there anything else I can do for you?" Jaydon turned to Chris and his mum and suggested confidently "Why not Chris adopt me too? We can be a proper family then and he'll be classed as my Dad, please mum please!" Chloe and Chris exchanged looks before agreeing excitedly and Chris to beam and say "I'd like to adopt Jaydon too please." Chloe then quickly added before the lady wrote on another form "And can we change his name to Jaydon Christopher Evans please?" The lady did as they wished and they left as a real family.

Channing collected Shannon and Savannah in the early afternoon. They all as Channing told them to dressed casually. Channing wore a checkered cobalt and emerald shirt and dark navy jeans. Shannon wore her black Batman logo jumper, black jeans and black converse. Savannah wore a white smiley face vest top, a bright red skirt and white flats. After an hour and an half drive while playing 'Guess The Song' and 'Guess The Siren' they arrived at the mystery location. It was a large house with a neat garden laid in front of it. "What's in there?" Shannon inquired feeling confused. "Follow me and you'll find out." Channing said back. She and Savannah curiously followed him inside. He led them to a reception. "Mr Tatum is it? Go and wait in office number 2, it's to your left, Mr Collins will be with you shortly." Channing nodded and led a still very lost Shannon and Savannah into office two.

Office 2 was a reasonably sized room with children quote posters all on the walls. They all sat on a chair opposite a large desk when they were soon joined by Mr Collins. "Good afternoon sir. Do you wish me to explain to your fiancee and her daughter why we're having this meeting?" He wondered placing the many folders on his desk. Channing nodded. Mr Collins continued "Miss Franco, your fiancee rang me last week to tell me his very good idea. This is an adoption home for Boys aged 5 all the way to 13. He wondered if you'd like to adopt a son with him." Shannon was amazed but she soon agreed by saying "Yes, of course, I'd love too." Channing smiled at her sweetly and held her hand. "Great, here are your 7 options. You can change their names if you wish, we just gave them their names randomly." 

Shannon, Channing and Savannah all read the biographies carefully. The options were; Daniel Miller aged 7, cheeky and not good with curfews, John Littleword aged 5, loves cleaning but hates everything else, Robert Harvey aged 11, never makes eye contact, has bladder issues. Jake Marley aged 14, very hormonal and has bad tempers regularly, Joe Fletcher aged 10, well mannered and loves reading about the past and playing football, Nathan Jenner aged 9, regularly gets into fights and swears a lot and Alexander Johnston aged 12, extremely snobbish and selfish. After looking through each boy they all made their decision. "We'd like to adopt Joe Fletcher please sir." Shannon announced. "Great lad he is, fantastic choice. You won't be able take him home just now but would you like to meet him?" Mr Collins asked. They all nodded and Mr Collins went to fetch him.

A few minutes later Mr Collins returned with Joe. "Joe, this is your new family." He explained. A warm and friendly smile be-painted his lips. "Great to meet you, thank you all so much." He beamed hugging them all. Joe had spiky dark brown curly hair and fern green eyes. He was wearing a Spongebob t-shirt, blue jeans and trainers. "Before we fill out the forms, would you like to change his name?" Channing whispered a suggestion in Shannon's ear and she immediately agreed."Joseph George Tatum we'd like to name him please." Shannon replied. Mr Collins wrote it down. "Please can you both sign here, now is there anything else I can do for you today?" Mr Collins questioned politely. "Yes! Channing can adopt me mum and we can all be a proper family! Please!" Savannah suggested. Channing smiled at Shannon agreeing. "I'd like to adopt Savannah too please." He grinned. Shannon then quickly added before Mr Collins wrote her name down on the form "And change her name to Savannah Grace Tatum too please, sir." He nodded then shook their hands and instructed "You can pick Joseph up at 4pm on Thursday, see you then." They all said goodbye and left as a real family.
