As he approached my table I fumbled in my mind over what to say. Thankfully he beat me to it and introduced himself.

"Hello gorgeous, I'm Tyler Cunningham." He flashed me a charming smile and I chuckled.

I wonder what he thinks I am?

Because I am a witch I can mask my scent. I had to do that today to ensure that no hunters would figure out what was happening, so the poor guy had no idea I was the witch he was supposed to be meeting with.

Ah well might as well have some fun with this and give him a good chase, dogs like that right?

"Well it's nice to meet you Taylor but unfortunately I was just leaving." I smiled internally as I heard I low growl rumble from his chest.

"My name is Tyler."

"My deepest apologies Tyler." I said sarcastically as I stood up.

I brushed past him and as I did I felt tingles run up and down my entire body. I shivered and noticed he had a similar reaction. Yup... we were definitely mates, no doubt about that.

But the real question is how did a werewolf and a witch become mates?

As a part of my training I was required to study the supernatural history, and a big part of that involved mates. Of course there were rare cases of a vampire and a witch being mates, or a werewolf and a mermaid, or something else along those lines, but I had never heard of a werewolf and a witch.

If I had to guess I would say it was because there would be a power struggle. Werewolves and witches are the two most dominant supernaturals, and if they were to be mated it would surely be extremely complicated.

I pushed past Tyler and made my way out of the diner, I needed to speak to Sarah and the rest of the council to figure out what was going on.

It's not that I didn't want a mate, because I definitely did... I was just unsure of how this could possibly work out. I mean, a mate is the one person destined to be the other half of your soul, your soul mate. Every supernatural has one and I have been hearing epic love stories about mates since I was a little girl. I saw everything I needed to know about mates from my parents, they were so in love it was insane. Just thinking about how much they loved each other still makes me smile.
