The Choice

Chapter 11

~Emmas POV~

"Wow Emma you look incredible" Lindsey gushed. "You should probably just keep that dress because I am never going to be able to pull it off like you can"

"Oh whatever Linds" I rolled my eyes at her comment. She was gorgeous, but not the showoff-y gorgeous, I'm talking about the natural beauty that some people just exude. We spent the day together while Tyler and Jason dealt with the details of this "pack meeting" (even though I'm getting the feeling that it's more like a party). We instantly hit it off, we just have so much in common. Who would of thought a werewolf could be such good company? Lindsey also let me borrow one of her dresses, and I have to say it does actually look great on me. It was strapless and made of a soft white material and it fell just above my knees. My long brown hair was down in its natural state of big loose curls. I was wearing light makeup and pearl earrings. around my neck was the amulet I always wear signifying that I was a coven leader, every leader has one and passes it on to the next leader when they retire. Mine was given to me by Sarah, and I would never forget how proud she was the day she gave it to me.

"Hellooo earth to Emma?" Lindsey called out while snapping her fingers in front of my face.

"Sorry" I grinned sheepishly

"We should probably go downstairs and see if they need any help setting up" Lindsey said

"Okay" I replied

As we made our way down the stairs I took in the chaos happening below me. It looked like everyone was in a frenzy. Everyone was moving things from outside back inside and I could hear one distinct voice above all the rest, Tyler's. After I descended the staircase I went to stand beside my mate.

"You look gorgeous Em" He said as his big blue eyes sparkled.

"Thanks" I blushed. I was used to receiving compliments from men but coming from Tyler it just felt...different. 

"What's with all the craziness?" I asked

"Well we planned on having the barbecue outside, but now it looks like it's about to rain so we are having to move everything inside" He told me.

"Yeah dude that shit came out of nowhere" Jason said.

Lindsey swatted his arm for his choice of language. 

"Yeah if only there was some sort of device that could predict what the weather was going to be like.... oh wait you have one. On your phone. A weather app." Lindsey said sarcastically and everyone laughed.

I stood there stunned before bursting in to laughter. Like I couldn't control it, I was laughing so hard there were tears forming in the corner of my eyes. I could feel everyone's looks of confusion so I regained my composure.

 "Everyone stop" I yelled to the people moving things inside. "Please take everything back outside, I am sorry for the inconvenience." They nodded and followed my orders. I turned to Tyler and Jason, who looked incredibly confused, "You have a witch upstairs, and you didn't think to ask her to fix the weather?" I said to them like it was obvious. I then stepped outside wand with a flick of my wrist, I used my atmokinesis to wipe all the rain clouds of the sky, and instantly causing the outside to be sunny and bright. I even added a gentle breeze so it wouldn't be too warm for the barbecue. I turned around to meet four looks of complete shock.

"WHAT THE HECK DID YOU JUST CHANGE THE WEATHER" Chandler asked excitedly. I rolled my eyes. 

"Duh. That's nothing really, they teach you that in year one." I could feel Tyler looking at me in awe.

"Please head to your stations to greet people as they arrive" Tyler instructed the others. Once it was just us in the room he came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me. Having him pressed up against me was sending tingles all over my body.

 He leaned down and whispered in my ear "That was pretty hot". 

I sucked in a breath as goosebumps formed all over my arms.

 "So what else can you do?" he asked. I didn't know if I liked the effect he could have on me but I figured two could play that game. I quickly spun around so that I was now directly facing him, but we were still pressed together. 

"Well I guess you'll just have to wait and find out" I said seductively before winking and wiggling out of his grasp and stepping outside where the rest of his pack awaited.

~Tyler's POV~

I watched as she exited the room and took in a deep breath. That girl had no idea what she was doing to me. Every fiber in my being yearned for her. I wanted nothing more than to mate with her, but I know I  need to give it time. The mating process is slightly different for every supernatural, which is why when two different supernaturals are mates it takes a little bit longer. For example, when werewolves mate they mark their mates by biting their necks, vampires do some weird blood thing, and mermaids do something with water (I wasn't really that clear on the details of the other supernaturals because I honestly never cared). However, I knew that I needed to take it slow, because there was no way I was going to lose her. I stepped outside and saw that most of my pack had arrived. Emma was standing on the back porch and she looked a little nervous. I took her hand in mine and gave her a reassuring smile. Everyone was looking at me expectantly, 

"Welcome friends, I am so pleased to announce that I have found my mate, and your Luna, Emma" There were cheers in the crowd and everyone seemed very excited for me. "I expect her to be treated with the same respect you treat me with. Also, For the next few weeks her coven will be coming to the pack lands to train, at least until we figure out a more permanent situation" I could hear a few mumbles in the crowd. "I expect all of them to be treated with the same respect, and I know that you will all do your best to be accomodating. Now let's eat!" I added at the end to lighten the mood and everyone applauded. I wrapped my arm around Emma reassuringly and led her to the serving line.

"Do you think they like me?" My mate asked in a small scared voice. It almost broke my heart.

"Of course they like you babe! How could they not?" I replied

She laughed, "Obviously, I'm awesome" She said with renewed enthusiasm.

I smiled. Emma confused me because sometimes she was this incredibly confident badass, and then at other times she seemed timid and almost scared. After we got our food we went to a table near the center that already had a few people sitting at it.

"Emma, I would like to introduce you to my Mom and Dad. Mom, Dad, this is my mate Emma." I said and my mom instantly jumped up and pulled Emma into a hug.

"Aw honey it is so nice to finally meet you! We've been waiting so long for Tyler to mate, now I can finally have Grandbabies!" my mother gushed excitedly. I could see Emma's cheeks flush a deep shade of red and I rolled my eyes. Thankfully, my father interrupted and stood up to shake Emma's hand.

"Nice to see you again Ms. Blake" my father said. Again? I was a little lost until Emma replied, "Good to see you as well Councilman". Of course! They were on the council together, I had completely forgotten. We all took our seat at the table accompanied by Chandler and his family and a few of the other high ranking families.

"Well now it's only a matter of time until my Chandler finds his mate and I can have Grandchildren as well!" Chandler's mother said, and everyone at the table laughed. I could tell it made Chandler feel a little uncomfortable, but he just rolled his eyes and played it off. I looked over at my mate and saw how happy she looked. She fit in perfectly and it would only be a matter of time until she saw this as her pack as well. I grabbed her hand under the table and smiled at her, and when I saw her big beautiful eyes looking back up at me I knew that I was completely in love with her.
