The Choice

Chapter 7

-Emma's POV-

I scoured the kitchen to see what I had to work with for dinner.

"How do you live off of this? You have no food in your house!" I asked, shocked.

"Well I usually eat meals in the pack house. My third in commands Jason's wife, Lindsey, cooks for us." He replied.

"Aww the big bad alpha can't cook for himself?" I teased.

"Hey I make a killer ice cream sundae!" He joked.

"Wow so nutritious" I retorted.

We continued our playful banter as I managed to find enough ingredients to make pasta. I started boiling the water and cutting up the ingredients.

"So tell me about yourself." I asked him

"Um well I have a mom, dad, and younger sister, Sophie. Sophie is a Senior in High School, but she was a bit of a trouble maker so my parents decided to send her to private school. She's doing great at her new school though, I think she likes the structure. She comes home for vacations and breaks, but we all miss her being around. You two will get along great, I can tell." he said and we flashed me a charming smile.

"That's awesome. I always wanted a sibling." I said.

"Only child?" he asked.

"Hey it's still your turn to share!" I said.

"Okay okay. What else do you want to know?" He asked.

"Um I don't know. Tell me about your friends. Chandler seemed cool and you mentioned Jason?" I replied.

"Well Chandler has been my best friend since we were born. His dad was the beta and our mom's are best friends. He is a huge ladies man, and obviously hasn't found his mate yet. Chandler and I met Jason in middle school and he fit in perfectly with us. In fact, we were kind of a badass trio after that. We are basically inseparable, so when my dad passed the alpha title to me Jason was the clear choice for third in command. He is kind of crazy and outgoing, but his mate Lindsey is so polite and traditional. They are the perfect couple." he explained.

I finished the pasta and dished it on to two plates. We sat down at the table.

"Okay I've shared everything about my life, now it's your turn doll." he said.

"Um so my parents died protecting my coven when I was five. Ryan's family took me in because they were in my parents coven too. When I got older I met Sarah, she took a special interest in me and trained me and taught me about my bloodline. Because of her I was able to become leader of my parents coven and train them to be one of the strongest. When I was elected leader, I chose Ryan as second in command and Lauren as my third. I guess in a way they have become my family. Oh! And my coven will be coming here twice a week to train... I assume that won't be a problem?" I said

"No...No problem at all." Tyler answered.
