The Choice

Chapter 6

-Tyler's POV-

I walked into the pack house and was greeted by my beta and best friend, Chandler.

"Hey man how did the meeting with the witch go?" he asked

"Shit. I completely forgot about it. I saw my mate and then I left the diner..."

"Dude you met your mate?! Congrats!" He said and gave me one of those man hugs

"Thanks Bro" I replied. I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket and checked the Caller ID. It was my Dad.

"Hey Dad what's going on?" I asked.

"Well son I just met your mate, and I have to say I think she will make a fantastic Luna"

"Thank-wait what? How did you meet her?" I asked

"There was a meeting with the council about her finding her mate" He said as if it was obvious.

"Why would the council meet with a human?" I asked dumbfounded.

I heard my father chuckle on the other end of the line. " Oh man you have no idea what you're getting yourself into son. Well the council decided she would move in with you for at least a month, so she should be on her way there soon. And bring her by the house soon, your mother is dying to meet her and is already talking about Grandkids. Goodbye son." Then I heard the line go dead.

I was thoroughly confused. Clearly my mate wasn't human, the council would never meet with a human unless it was an extreme circumstance. She couldn't be a were because she would have been classified as a rogue, and I definitely would have smelled if she was a vampire... She must be a mermaid! I exclaimed in my head. Everyone knows the mer have a weakened scent, which would explain why I couldn't smell her. And, she would have gone undetected by patrols because of our good relations with the mer schools. I went upstairs to clean up my house for her arrival and mind linked the pack to warn them to be on their best behavior.

-Emma's POV-

I pulled up to the pack house and not going to lie, I was very impressed. It looked like it could've been a plantation house. It was huge yet very classy and sophisticated. The huge rod iron gates were already open so I pulled into the driveway and got out of my car. I saw a few guys running around the house and some little kids playing around a big tree. I heard a wolf whistle coming from one of the guys out front and I looked him over. He was pretty cute but nothing compared to my mate. I smirked. Poor guy doesn't know I'm his alphas mate. Tyler walked out right then and everyone bowed their heads in respect. He then grabbed the guy who whistled at me by his shirt and said in his alpha voice, "That is my mate and your future Luna and you will treat her with the utmost respect. I will let it slide this time because you didn't know, but if it happens again I will not be so gracious. And that goes for the rest of you too."  The sound of his sexy deep voice sent tingles down my spine, and I did my best to keep my composure. 

"Yes alpha" the guy said apologetically. At that time another guy came out of the house.

"Aw Ty stop giving them a hard time. Can you blame them? Your mates a beaut." He said and winked at me. Then he reached for my hand and kissed it, "I'm Chandler, Tyler's beta. It's an honor to meet you Luna." He said respectfully. The mood changed once he came outside and everyone was cheery and care-free again. I could tell that Tyler and Chandler were a good pair, Tyler the serious one and Chandler the easy going one. I made a mental note to get Tyler to loosen up a bit.

"Nice to meet you" I smiled at Chandler.

"Well how about I grab your bags and show you around." Tyler said and grabbed my suitcase and duffel bag from the back of my car.

"This is the pack house, and around back behind the pool is where I live" He explained.

He led me around and I saw his (our?) house. Even it was gigantic. it was a two story with a beautiful view of the pool and pack house in the front, and the woods in the back.

"Wow it's beautiful, and huge" I told him.

"Yeah well I had it built because I like my privacy, and also I felt like it would be a good place to raise a family." He looked down at his feet and blushed. The fact that he had thought about raising a family warmed my heart a  little.

"Well I love it." I smiled reassuringly at him.

He opened the door for me and showed me around inside, the place was amazing. There were at least 5 bedrooms in his private house alone, and a giant office and a very childlike man cave that was actually one of my favorite parts. Once I was all settled in we sat down on the couch in the media room together.

"So..." I said.

"So..." he replied.

Well shit I finally meet my mate, my other half, and it's the most awkward thing ever. Fantastic. So I did what I always did when I felt awkward, find food.

"How about I make us some dinner and you can entertain me by telling me about yourself" I suggested.

"Yeah okay" he replied and we stood up and headed to the kitchen.
