Felicity's POV
College was not something I was looking forward to, but something I needed. My roommate being Laurel Lance, an upcoming law student, and my only friend.

We had met when I was younger, having used to stay with my now dead aunt in Starling. I would go stay there every summer until I was thirteen. Laurel was a year older than me, and lives on the same street. We hung out all the time, and being the little nerd back home it felt good to get a break from all the assumptions. I was always the fourth wheel when it came to her, Tommy, and 'Ollie', but I was usually glad to be included.

When I was fourteen my aunt died, so I couldn't visit. So we would figure out anyway to talk to me. Finally I was walking into the university dormitory.

"Laurel?" The now blonde woman comes running out of the bathroom.

"Felicity! You look amazing! How many years has it been?!" She hugs me quickly.

"Um... Four, and I wouldn't say I look amazing."

"Ya... I was just being nice..."

"Hey!" I swat her arm playfully, making her laugh.

"What's with the hair?" She says playing with the now dark strand of hair.

"Just seemed right."

"Felicity, what's going on?"

"Just had a rough for years. Which I really want to put behind me now."

"I get how you feel."

"Sara?"

"Ya..." Her sister had overdosed during the summer three years ago, when she was a senior in high school.

"Hey so I'm going to meet Oliver and Tommy in an hour, do you want to join me?"

"I'm not sure that's a good idea. The three of you are pretty tight, and I would just fourth wheel."

"No your not! Common, it will be fun!"

"What are you even doing?"

"We were going to go bowling believe it or not. I have finally convinced the boys that drinking and girls aren't the only fun things in life."

"How many years did that take?"

"Five, but it's progress. Now let's find you something to wear."

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

"Yes because a baggy shirt and some ripped up jeans are attractive. Did you just throw everything I taught you about clothing out the window?"

"Ya... Especially since I don't have the budget for it."

"Let's fix this." She goes to her closet and pulls out a white top and some green skinny jeans.

"Here. Put this on." Knowing better than to argue with her I put the clothes on.

"Okay. That's done... Let's curl your hair, give it some volume."

"Are you playing dress up with me... Again?"

"Yep. Now sit."

"Laurel, we are just going bowling."

"I know, but I want you to make those boys realize what they've missed."

"Thanks..." Twenty minutes later I hardly recognize myself.
