"Where were you?" Alex asked me, while he made our food.

"I-I was in uh, moms and dads room." I said, sitting down on a stool, watching Alex.

"Why?" He asked, stuffing a piece of bacon in his mouth.

Come on, Sam, think fast. "I uhh, left uhh, a bracelet in there." I told him.

"Oh." He nodded, letting it go.

"Ooh, food." Someone said, behind me.

Alex turned around, taking his eyes off of the food. "Jack? Did you stay here?"

"Uh, yeah," he said. "Somehow I woke up in your closet."

Alex laughed, believing the lie -it's happened before. "How the hell do you even get in there in the first place?"

Jack chuckled, "I have no idea."

"Have you packed yet?" Alex asked Jack, returning back to his cooking. "We're leaving tomorrow."

Jack groaned, "I haven't even started yet."

Alex laughed, "Go home then."

"I might need some help," Jack smiled mischievously at me. "Sam, wanna come help me."

"Sur-" I was cut off by Alex.

"She can't." He quickly said.

Jack frowned, "Why not?"

"Because, she's hanging with me." Alex said. "It's our last day together, until a couple of months."

"But I wanna hang out with her." Jack wined.

"Too fucking bad." Alex laughed, handing us both plates with eggs and bacon.

Jack pouted. I laughed at both of them. But, deep down I was drowning. Four of my best friends were going to leave me for months. I'll be alone. My heart ached at that, but I pretended everything was alright. Why have them worry? This is what they love to do. I have no right to make them feel guilty about it.

We ate our breakfast. Jack and Alex were joking around and at times I would laugh at them, but I wasn't really paying attention to them. My mind was swirling around with a lot of thoughts.

Jack and I kissed -more than once. What does that make us? And before we could even discuss this, he's leaving. And Alex, how am I supposed to function without Alex? He was the one kept me from losing my sanity. These were going to be the longest months of my life.

"Go change." Alex, told me while he went upstairs. "We've got things to do. And Jack, go home!" He yelled from upstairs.

"Hey," Jack hugged me. "Stop thinking so much."

"Easy to say, hard to do." I mumbled in his chest. "You should go start packing." I told him. I tried to sound happy, but when he looked me in the eye, I knew I didn't fool him.

He nodded and kissed my forehead. He waved a goodbye to me, and he was out the door before I could even respond. I sighed, staring at nothing. I wanted to cry, but I held it in.

Before I could keep on thinking, Jack came back in, with a sly smile playing at lips. "Wha-"

"You didn't think I would just leave like that, did you?" He cupped my face with his hands and pressed his lips against mine.

My eyes widened from the surprise. My brain finally caught up with what was going on, and I kissed him back, making him smile. He pulled away and grabbed my hand, pulling me upstairs.
