Chapter 6

I set my purse down onto the desk and waited for the class to begin. I had taken Stella's advice and signed up for an art class. It was just a class to learn different techniques in drawing and painting, which is what I desire to learn. A tall, bone skinny woman in a very beautiful sundress walked into the class and sat next to me. She had a warm smile, but something about her gave me an errie feeling-like something wasn't right.

"Hi there, I'm Vicky." She held out her hand and I took this time to take a closer look at her.

She wore thick black eyeliner and smokey eye shadow that surrounded her piercing blue eyes. She had pale skin, and wore an orange sundress to contradict her paleness. Her handshake was firm, contradicting her small figure. She smiled again, and I had a chill run through my body. Something was off about this woman.

"Hi, I'm Christina Burke." We dropped our hands and turned forward to listen to the teacher that just came in. She was an old woman, probably in her 60's with graying hair and wrinkled skin.

Once class started we did a drawing exercise where we drew something that represented us in the best way. I decided to draw art: pencils, paper, paintbrushes, and cans of paint. I drew it all onto this rough sketch and got lost in my drawing. Finally the teacher told us to stop and turn to someone next to us to explain our drawings.

I looked over at Vicky's sketch to see headlines, newspapers, magazines, and a camera. I couldn't really understand the purpose of her drawing, what did all these things have to do with Vicky's personality? She studied my drawing and nodded while looking it over.

"What best represents you is artwork, the simplicity of it yet also the difficulty in the task itself of creating art. You find it as a way to express your feelings when words can't?" She said this all so fast that it caught me off guard. "I take you're a shy person?"

"I don't consider myself shy at all, I'm very outgoing but only around the people I can trust" I explained myself.

"So trust is a big factor to you in being comfortable around people, am I right?" She spit out. I feel like I am being interrogated right now. What gives her the right to say all these things and analyze me so deep?

"Umm, yes I'd say so."

"Interesting." Was all she said before the teacher brought our attention back to her.

I could hardly focus on the syllabus the professor was going over. I couldn't wrap my brain around why she was questioning me before. Vicky seems so locked up, like she can read other people's feelings but she won't be open about herself. She's intriguing and before I knew it, class was already over.

I saw Vicky heading out the door so I rushed to catch up to her. "Hey Vicky, you never told me what your drawing meant." Referring to our warm up we did in class.

She smiled, "Some things are better untold sweetie." And with that she walked off toward the car lot.

"So how was your first ever Uni class?" Stella inquired as we sat down with our Chinese food.

I had gone over to Zayn's house, where Stella has just recently moved into, for lunch after class. We were enjoying noodles, spring rolls, and fried rice with broccoli from one of the take away restaurants near by. The house was incredible, so huge and welcoming as well. You can tell there was a woman's touch in the place with the colours and the throw pillows on the couch. I absolutely love it!

We were currently eating on a glass table in the dining room. "It was strange. " Stella looked confused so I went on to explain the whole episode with Vicky.
