Chapter 14

Christina's POV

"Ready to go?" Stella smiled at my door. She was wearing black leggings, combat boots, and a grey knit jumper with a long black and silver necklace. She looked concert material, and absolutely beautiful!

I was wearing a tight navy blue dress with a black sweater and my black combat boots as well. We bought them at the same time, so we felt we should match a little tonight. I slung my black purse over my side so it draped across my body and we headed straight to the gig. A bunch of people were already there, mostly girls.

"Are you excited? This is your first concert!" Stella cheered excitidely, trying to cheer me up. The past few days I haven't been exactly "happy". I'm finding it hard to find joy, except for when James, Harry's friend, talked so highly of my work after buying it.

"Um, yeah I guess. I don't really know what to expect honestly." This would be a first for me, and exciting nerve-racking first.

"It's gonna be a lot of fun! The lads are really excited that you're coming!" Stella has been to so many concerts since she's been dating Zayn, but this one is different since I'm coming.

I'm excited to see the lads do what they're famous for, to finally see what the hype about them is. Everybody seems so into them, so they must be good. We parked in the VIP section of the lot to the stadium. I silently followed Stella who led us to the door to the backstage part of the huge building. She told our names to the security man and he let us through, explaining where to go. There was a long line of girls trying to get in where we were. As we passed through the security guard, many of the girls looked at us scowling and jealous that we were able to pass.

"That was weird." I whispered out loud as Stella and I were walking down a long corridor.

She looked at me, confused. "What do you mean by that?" She giggled.

"I don't know, I guess because all those girls outside evy us. I've never been envied. It feels weird." I frowned looking at the ground as we continued walking.

Stella didn't say anything else, and I didn't expect her to. We finally arrived backstage where the lads where getting their hair done. Zayn ran over and embraced Stella, leaving me to feel awkward next to them until someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned to see a smiling Irish boy.

"Hi Niall." I smiled when he pulled me into his arms.

He held me tight against him, relishing our hug. He was warm and smelled delicious. He pulled back a little to come face to face with me, silently searching my eyes to try and find answers. "How have you been?" His tone of voice revealed what he was implying to. This was the first time I've seen him since the incident.

Sighing, I said, "I've been better."

He nodded, not saying anything, and pulled me back into his arms slowly rocking back and forth. I never wanted to leave his arms. I wish I could stay in this moment forever, where I feel nothing but love. He bent and whispered in my ear, "You are strong. You're going to make it through this." With that, he let me go and kissed my forehead.

I nodded and silently thanked him. We were brought back into reality when Liam, Louis, and Harry came to greet us. I don't think I will ever forget what Niall just told me. As the rest of the lads gave us hugs, I felt numb, like I wasn't really there. It was a strange feeling. Almost like I was completely out of it, and just spacing out the whole time. It was only when Harry came up to me that I felt that I really came back to the here and now.

"Hi love." He cooed, pulling me into a brief hug. I smiled and hugged him back. He smiled his marvelous and dazling smile that I enjoyed seeing so much. "Are you excited?" At first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then I remembered that we were backstage at his concert.

"Oh, yeah! I'm really excited to see what you guys are all about." After I said that, someone came up to the lads and handed them their mics and ear pieces. They were told they would need to get in place within five minutes.

"Well, I gotta go. I'll talk to you after the show!" Harry gave me one last hug before he made his way to the underneath of the stage where they will pop up.

"Let's go!" Stella grabbed my arm and brought me to the side where we could see a view of the stage.

I caught eyes with Harry, crouched down ready to be sprung up onto stage, and there he was smiling at me and giving me a thumbs up. I returned the smile and mouthed "Good Luck" to him. He nodded and turned to look forward as the countdown went off for them.

I was nervous all of a sudden. Maybe I was nervous for the lads because of their gig, but it felt deeper. I couldn't put my finger on it. For some reason I feel like I'm changing. I'm not the same girl I was before I moved to London. I'm different. In a good way? I admit a lot has happened since my move, but I feel like I'm just not the Christina Burke that I've always been. Have I really changed? This thought haunted me throughout the entire concert, and I found myself barely watching until the end when the encore's played out.

They sang their most famous song, their first ever song they made as a band, What Makes You Beautiful. It was a cute song, very bouncy and upbeat. I liked it nonetheless. They played another song, Best Song Ever, that I really enjoyed. All in all, I really like their music, and now I shall consider myself as a fan. They are very talented and I enjoyed watching them in their element tonight.

"That was awesome, huh?! They never get old!" Stella yelled over the applause of the some 10,000 girls. I nodded enthusiastically along with her and we watched the lads come off stage.

"What did you think?" Liam yelled, obviously the screaming fans had deranged his hearing momentarily. He had this huge smile painted on his face as he came towards me with his arms wide open.

"Absolutely brilliant!" He grabbed me in his arms and swirled me around while I giggled.

I felt happy again, like myself for a change, and I think Stella noticed because she was watching my reactions with a smile on her face.

After congradulating each of them we were told that we had to leave seperately without them because it could cause complications with the fans and such, which I understood as they were so famous. So I waited while Zayn and Stella had their private moment to say goodye...yuck! I stood next to them, feeling awkward for the second time tonight. Harry came up to "save" me and I smiled while he made disgusted faces to try and make me laugh.

"Thank you." I said to him, tucking in a strand of hair behind my ear. Harry seemed to always know how to make me feel better.

"Anything for you, love." He grinned and hugged me tight, holding me to his hard chest like he always does. I snuggled my head into him and smiled when I smelled his strong perfume mixed when sweat from being on stage. Harry had one of a kind hugs, and I really enjoyed his presence at the moment. He pulled away abruptly and held me at arms length. "What would you say if I took you out to coffee tomorrow?"

"Um, yeah that's cool." I was momentarily thrown off by his question. "I'm sure Stella would like to come too." I added in.

He frowned, then smiled and nodded looking down at the floor. "Of course she would like to." He dropped his hold on me and Stella came over.

"Good night." He said, but he was just looking at me when he said it. With that, we started to walk away. I turned back to look at Harry staring at the ground with his hands stuffed in his pockets looking defeated. He looked up in that moment and saw me looking at him, and he flashed a sad smile back.

I sat on my stomach in bed, watching the scenes play out on my muted telly. The concert had been amazing and I was still buzzing with adrenaline. I sipped on some of my tea when I got an idea. I got up and grabbed my laptop from my dresser. I typed in a few things in the search engine and scrolled through the various links. I smiled when I found a few phone numbers and links to refer back to. I brought up a blank document and started typing. The words just flowed out of me and I had finished writing two full pages within minutes. My smile remained on my face as I dialed the familiar number into my mobile.

"Stella? I have a brilliant idea."

A/N: Hmm what is this brilliant idea? You're just going to have to continue reading to find out. Just a reminder, this story is all my own and my friend's experiences rolled into one. It has so much meaning to me and I hope you lot won't critisize it. I work really hard on all these chapters, and yes at some points it is cliche but hey this is a fan fiction and it isn't an AU...so yeah. Sorry for the rant. Hope, as always, you enjoyed this chapter!

This chapter is dedicated to @YeahItsWicked because this girl is an amazing writer and is currently writing a brilliant Zayn AU! Go check it out because it is personally one of my faves!
