"Frankenstein was one of the most iconic books ever published. Blah blah blah..." Mrs. Woolworth droned on.
Jordan wasn't paying attention. All he could think about was Riley. Something was different about her, and whatever it was, he liked it.
"Jordan," Mrs. Woolworth sounded angry. "Pay attention! No sleeping in class!" A few of his friends snickered. He must've dozed off for a minute there.
Riley wasn't in any of his other morning classes. At lunch, he looked around the cafeteria for her, but he had no luck. Maybe she was eating outside with Mia. He sat down with some of his friends from hockey: Marcus, Andrew, and Theo.
"I hate Science class!" Mia cried out. She and Riley were sitting on the field outside.
"I don't have science until later,"
"Lucky,"
"I guess,"
Mia took a bite of her sandwich, then said, "I have a crush on someone,"
"Really?"
"Yeah. His name is Andrew. I think he's friends with Jordan. He's cute AF!"
"Cool,"
"I almost forgot!" Mia took out her cell phone from her pocket. "Our back to school selfie!" Riley had promised Mia that they would take a selfie that day so that Mia could post it on her Instagram. They smiled and took a few pictures.
"I like that one," Riley said, pointing at the second one. She was smiling, and Mia's lips were slightly puckered.
"Me, too,"
"Post it!"
"Already did!" The girls giggled.

"How was school, Monkey?" Riley's dad asked her when she got home from school.
"Good. I like Art class, and I saw Jordan again. Remember him?"
Her dad thought for a moment. "Your boyfriend?"
"No, Dad! We've already been through this!" Riley sighed, and collapsed onto the couch.
"Whatever you say." Her dad continued to read the newspaper.
"We're going out for dinner tonight," her mother said, coming into the living room.
"Why?"
"It was your first day of high school! Let's celebrate!"
"Oh, ok!" Riley smiled.
"Pizza!" Joy cried. "Pepperoni or Hawaiian?"
"Pepperoni, let's keep it simple," Sadness said.
"Oooh, yes! Pepperoni from Louie's is spicy!" Anger added.
"Wait, before we leave, we should like that selfie we took earlier," Disgust said.
Riley hadn't had Instagram for long. She had only just gotten it for her last birthday, when she got the newest iPhone. She didn't follow too many people, and not many people followed her. Mia's post was one of the first ones on the home screen. It had a whooping 51 likes and 22 comments. Riley usually only got 3 likes on her pictures. The comments on their selfie were really nice.
"Cute!"
"Awww #squadgoals"
"Nice :)"
There was even a comment from Andrew, Mia's new crush.
"You guys look hot ;)"
Riley had never been called hot before.
"Does he like us?" Fear questioned.
"Nuh uh, he probably likes Mia, but not us." Sadness replied.
"That's fine, Mia can have him." Joy said.
A new memory appeared. It was happy.

At Louie's Pizzeria, Riley got a pepperoni pizza. She are quite a bit of it, and saved the rest for her lunch tomorrow.
As her family paid at the front of the store, Riley spotted Amy, her friends, and some boys, all sitting at a table together. Amy whispered something to Yasmin, who nodded and laughed, then looked at Riley.
"They're talking about us!" Fear cried.
"Let's go give them a piece of our mind!" Anger shouted, flaming.
"Anger, calm down. They probably aren't talking about us. I mean, why would they?" Joy pushed Anger towards the couch.
"Um, because they hate us?" Disgust guessed.
"NO ONE LIKES US!" Sadness was sobbing.
"Shut up, Sadness!" Joy was getting a bit mad.
Another new memory was created. This time, it was sad, angry, and fearful.
