I feel my eyes beginning to drift open. Sunlight is streaming in through the open curtains and I blink a little while my eyes try and adjust.
I'm suddenly very aware that I am very warm. And that I have an arm across my stomach and my face is resting on someone's shoulder.
Craning my neck slightly, I look up into the face of Finn, eyes closed, still sleeping. My eyes widen in shock. Are we... cuddling?
He shifts slightly in his sleep, and I stop breathing in an attempt to stop him waking up. It doesn't work. His eyes creak open and he looks down at me. He breathes gently.
"Good morning" He begins. I notice he doesn't move.
"Good morning" I reply, a little hesitant because I am very aware I have morning breath. Finn smile down at me, repositioning himself so that I am even closer to him.
With his other hand he reaches down to stroke the side of my face, smiling slightly. "I know I'm your teacher, but I imagine it's early in the morning, and I'm very comfortable, so I don't want to move yet"
"I think that's fair enough" I say honestly, and snuggle further into his arm, my eyes drifting shut again "I mean I know I'm your student, but this is how I want to wake up every morning because I'm very comfortable"
"I won't tell if you won't" Finn bargains, and rubs his eyes with his hand "But this is so inappropriate"
"I know, but its happened now and we can't change it" I tell him, and I'm surprised to hear him sigh. Perhaps I'm rubbing off on him. A week ago he'd have yelped and run out of the room. Now he's pulling me closer to him.
"It can't happen again though, which is a shame" Finn tells me and I giggle, burying my face in his shoulder. "Maybe I should go now"
At his suggestion my eyes reopen. "Don't go, at least let me make you breakfast" I tell him and he looks at me.
"What kind of breakfast?" He asks and I smile.
"Any kind that you like" I tell him "But it does involve moving"
Finn groans and I giggle. He rests his chin on the top of my head for a while, and we sit in companionable silence. Then my stomach makes an incredibly loud noise to indicate how hungry I am and we both burst out laughing.
"I think maybe we should get breakfast now" Finn suggests and I nod, laughing still. I stand to my feet, regretting falling asleep in my blouse as its now all crumpled.
We make our way into the kitchen, where Finn settles on toast for his breakfast. I place two slices into the toaster and pour myself a bowl of cereal. I notice Finn has taken a seat at the breakfast table, in my usual spot, and I smile.
"Do you want a kiss?" I ask him and he looks up at me hurriedly, blinking rapidly and his cheeks a satisfying shade of scarlet.
"What did you say?" Finn stammers and I smile.
"I said do you want your toast crisp?" I repeat, having to bite the inside of my cheeks to pretend that was my original question. He's so fun to tease.
"Uh... Just medium is fine. Not too light and not too burnt" He replies and I nod. Finn picks up some of the magazines that are on the kitchen table. "You have a lot of pet magazines"
"They're not so much pet magazines as they are hints to Dad about how much I want a dog" I reply, and walk over to him. I flip to one of the pages in the magazine with the corners folded over, and pint to a picture. "I want a little Daschund, because they're only little, don't take up too much room and they're just so cute"
