Chapter 5: That Was Close

In the morning,

Sonic got up in his bedsheet. He realized that Tails is gone. He wore his sneakers, pick up his guitar and ran to Tails's workshop. After minutes of running, he finally made it.

"OK, my first day to learn...", Sonic said, exhaled lowly.

When he enters the workshop, he saw Tails snoring in the table.

"Tails?", Sonic asked to himself with a confused look.

Tails woke up and he fell to the floor.

Tails: Oh, Sonic! What are you up to?
Sonic: Tails, did you woke up early?
Tails: Well, I'm fixing my plane, when I was too sleepy, I just sleep in the table.
Sonic: Anyway, Tails. Borrow me your gadget.
Tails: What gadget?
Sonic: A gadget that can teach me how to play a guitar.
Tails: Oh, yeah! ( picks up the gadget from the table.) Take it.
Sonic: ( takes the gadget.) So, what am I gonna do?
Tails: I hate it when you disturb me right now, but only one day, I'm gonna teach you now.
Sonic: Great, let's go somewhere we can go without anyone who watches us.
Tails: Hmm.... I think I have a good place to go.
Sonic: Where?
Tails: Follow my lead. ( flies away and left.)
Sonic: Whatever you say. ( runs and follows Tails.)

After 10 minutes,
Tails: Here, this is the perfect place.
Sonic: In Pleasant Gardens?
Tails: Yep.
Sonic: Good thing.
Tails: So, we can start?
Sonic: Sure.

They sat in Indian sit on the grass and Tails turned on the gadget and he starts to find some basic steps on the gadget.

Tails: Ok, let's start with the basics. Ready the guitar.
Sonic: ( twiddled his fingers in his guitar.)
Tails: Let's start....

Meanwhile,
Sonic's three friends tried to find Sonic and Tails. They did this like in several hours. After that, they went to Eggman's lair and attacked the lair.

Sticks: Where's Sonic and Tails, Eggman?!
Eggman: I don't know what you're talking about, you rodents!
Amy: How do we trust you?
Eggman: ( walks to another room.) Let's see here in my Computer.
Everyone except Eggman: ( follows)

Eggman used his computer to scan the surroundings of the island. They saw something blue and yellow in Pleasant Gardens.

Knuckles: Huh, in Pleasant Gardens?
Amy: What are they doing in there?
Stick: Maybe Eggman caught them in here!
Eggman: I said, I don't know anything!
Amy: Whatever. Let's go now.
( The trio leaves.)

Knuckles: I wonder why Sonic and Tails are doing in there.
Sticks: Maybe they're just hanging out.
Amy: If that so, why are they taking so long?
Sticks: IDK but we need to go to Pleasant Gardens.
Amy: .....

Meanwhile, ( Again.)

At 2:00 P.M

Sonic and Tails are taking a break.

Sonic: Guitar lessons are very complicated.
Tails: I knew that, but if you practice some more, you will make it even better.
Sonic: ( sighs.)
Tails: Why?
Sonic: Nothing.
Tails: I know there's something in your brain.
Sonic: I'm just thinking about my secret.
Tails: Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.
Sonic: I already know it.

Then, they heard someone shouting their names.
SONIC! TAILS!

Sonic: Oh, no!
Tails: H-How did they get here?
Sonic: Quick, hide this!
Tails: ( grabs the guitar.)

Tails flies in mid-air and the wind suddenly blew hard, he fails and falls to the ground. So, he accidentally falls the guitar. It landed to the exact place where the trio finally came.

Amy: Umm... Who owned this guitar? ( picks up the guitar.)
Knuckles: Wow, nice style.
Amy: ( rolled her eyes.) Anybody here?

Then Amy saw Sonic helping Tails to get up.

Amy: Sonic?
Sonic: Hey, Amy! ( notices Amy holding his guitar.)
Tails: H-Hi, guys.
Sticks: Is there a problem in you two?
Sonic: What? No!
Tails: Umm...Guys, please give me that.
( points at the guitar.)
Sonic: ( whispers at himself.) Tails, what are you doing?!
Amy: Oh, is it yours? ( gives the guitar to Tails.)
Tails: Y- Yeah, this is one of my gadgets.
Knuckles: ( teasing him.) Oh, yeah, prove it!
Tails: ( glares at Knuckles.) Uh... Knuckles, every gadget I show to everyone is true. But I'm going to show you soon.
Knuckles: OK, nevermind that.
Amy: Anyway, what do you guys taking so long?
Sonic: Uh...we are just hanging out ,talking each other.
Amy: Nevermind, give them some more space, guys.
Knuckles: Let's get out of here.
( The trio left....)

Sonic: Phew, that was close.
Tails: No offense, Sonic. Don't get mad at me, I just help you.
Sonic: Thank you for that.
Tails: Sonic, I have a question for you, why do you want to keep this a secret?
Sonic: I-IDK, I just need time to think.
Tails: Hmm......We have no time to hang-out here. ( sighs.) I wanna go home now. ( flies.)
See you later, pal...
Sonic: ( sighs, picks up the guitar and left...)
