Chapter 1

Raph's POV

WHY?

That was the one question running through my mind.

Why does everyone hate me so much. I mean, I know I'm hotheaded and mean most of the time, but still. They're my brothers. And the worst part of all is that I love the one who hates me the most.

That's right, I'm in love with Leo.

I know it's wrong, which makes me hate myself even more than I already do. I just don't know what to do. I hate myself more than they ever could.

'We would be better off without you.'

'You're a burden to this family.'

'I wish you would just leave already!'

Their words kept ringing through my head, like an alarm clock that wouldn't shut off no matter how much you tried. Even Master Splinter hates me, and I don't even know why. It was an accident.

~~~~~Earlier That Day~~~~~

We had just had night patrol a few hours ago when we were ambushed by the foot and Karai. We started the fight and soon after we had beaten all the foot bots I decided that I could beat Karai on my own, so I went after her. While we were battling, I tripped and fell into her. She stumbled backwards, right off the edge of the building we were standing on. As she fell I could hear my brothers yelling at me. Karai landed on the cold, hard pavement of the alley way below. I jumped down and right as I was about to see if she was alright, I was kicked into the wall. I got up off the ground and turned around, only to see my brother staring at me with anger in his eyes.

"What are you doing?!?!" Leo yelled. If looks could kill, I would already be dead.

"I-I didn't m-mean to. I j-just tripped." I said, stumbling over my words.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we need to get Karai to the lab! She's losing blood fast!" Donnie yelled, still hunched over Karai's body.

As I looked over at Karai, I was stunned in horror. Blood splattered all around her, her breathing shallow and labored. Donnie and Leo picked up Karai and brought her back to the lair. I followed silently behind, my head hung low. When we arrived, Donnie brought her to the lab, while Leo went to go get Master Splinter. I was not allowed anywhere near Karai.

When Master Splinter came out of the dojo, I was sent to my room while everyone else waited in the main room to hear from Donnie.

~~~~~Present Time~~~~~

It's been two hours since we heard anything from Donnie. We have no idea what's happening in the lab or why it's taking so long.

I was lying on my bed looking up at the ceiling when I heard a knock on my door.

"What do you want?" I asked semi-angrily.

"Open the door, this instant!" The voice shouted back. I immediately knew whose voice it was.

I opened the door to see Master Splinter looking directly at me.

"Come with me," he said calming down a little.

"Where are we going?" I asked warily.

He didn't answer, only walked faster towards the main room.

Just as we arrived, Donnie came out of the lab looking crestfallen. He collapsed on the floor in front of us and started crying heavily, while Master Splinter ran into the lab to check on Karai. We heard loud sobbing coming from the lab, and we immediately knew what was happening.
