Chapter 14

Mikey's POV

I was siting on the edge of the rooftop, waiting for Raph to come back up. I saw a shadow behind me so I got up, thinking it was him. When I turned around I saw a girl with blonde hair and reddish-brown eyes. I was about to ask her who she was when she whispered.

"It's called depression." I was confused.

"What?" I asked.

"Your brother." She said softly. "He has depression." I was going to ask her if that's why Raphie tried to kill himself, but I figured it was. I'm not as dumb as everyone says.

"How can I help him?" I wondered out loud.

"Be there for him." She said. "Teach him that his life is worth living."

"But how do I do that." I ask, confused. "I don't think he'll believe me."

"Raph is a tough guy, but depression is stronger. Take care of him, don't baby him." She explained.

"I don't know how to do that." I admitted. "I'm not the one who takes care of everyone."

"Well, for now you'll have to be that person. If you bring him to someone else, even if your trying to help him, he'll run. He's scared. He might not realize it, but I do. He's hiding something, something that's breaking him from the inside out. Just by bringing you up here I can tell that he trusts you the most. I'm afraid that if we don't find out what he's hiding soon, something really bad is going to happen." It already happened, but it's obvious that she doesn't know. I would tell her, but I feel like Raph is the one who needs to do that.

Speaking of Raph, where is he? He kind of just disappeared. I was starting to get a little worried, when I saw him walking towards us.

"Hey Raph." I said casually, thinking of what Ash had told me. Act normal.

"We should head home, Mikey. It's almost time for patrol." He said, a little too quickly.

"Ok." I said, following him as he walked back towards the ladder.

"Bye Ash." He called over his shoulder.

"Bye Raph." She called back.

While we were walking, I couldn't help but think of Raph's little secret that he's hiding. I wonder what it is.
