Ashlyn's POV

I was taking my midnight stroll in the park, down to the abandoned house when I saw a shadowed figure on the roof. Naturally, I went up to investigate. When I got up there I saw something I never thought I would see in my life, a giant turtle wearing a ninja mask with weapons. What astonished me more than the giant turtle, was the fact that he was holding a weapon to his own wrist. Having past experience with this situation, I knew what he was going to do. Even though I didn't yet know who he was, I felt compelled to stop him from making the same mistakes that I had.

"Don't do it." I said quietly, fearing that he would lash out at me.

He slowly turned his head, looked me directly in the eyes, and said "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't."

"Because..." I started, trying to think of a reason. "There are people out there who love you."

"I highly doubt that..." He stated firmly.

"Why is that?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

He just turned his head, looking at his weapon once again.

"C'mon, you can trust me." I said, walking over to him slowly.

"I'm not sure if I can." He said warily.

"And why not?" I asked.

"Because I just met you, I don't even know your name." He replied.

"Well for starters, my name is Ashlyn but you can call me Ash." I stated. "What's your name?" I asked, waiting patiently for an answer.

"I'm Raphael, but you can call me Raph." He said, warming up a little.

"Raph. I like that name. So are you going to tell me why you're out here?" I asked.

"I'd rather not talk about it." He said, putting the subject to rest.

"Ok, you don't have to. I would just like to know so I can help you." I said, a little quietly.

"I don't need help!" He shouted, semi-loudly. I looked at him a little hurt until he said "Sorry, I kinda have anger issues."

"That's ok. I'm used to people yelling at me. That's all my parents did before I left." I said, sadly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know." He apologized.

"How could you have known? It's my life, not yours." I stated, laughing lightly while taking a seat next to him. We sat in the calm silence for a few minutes before he began to speak again.

"I have to go." He said a bit awkwardly.

"Ok, see you here tomorrow." I said, hoping to see him again.

"Um...yeah, sure." He agreed. "See ya tomorrow." He started walking to the opposite side of the roof, where the ladder was.

"Raph." I called out.

He turned around, signaling for me to finish my thoughts.

"Please don't hurt yourself anymore." I pleaded.

He responded quietly saying, "I'm sorry, but I can't make that promise."

Before I could ask why, he vanished into thin air in the blink of an eye.

I laid back on the roof, looking up at the stars until I fell asleep.
