Nikki's P.O.V
Shane had rushed Nathaniel home quickly after seeing the body. I didn't want my little brother scared for life. I push my way through the crowd to get a closer look, he's white and skinny and wearing a white tank top and jeans. He would look like any normal dude, except for the pool of blood underneath his shirt and the dead look in his eyes. I can't tear my eyes away. He's leaning against a red pick-up truck. It must be his. I hear sirens behind me and soon an ambulance, two police cars and a coroner truck is here. The coroner gets out of his car, carrying a black bag with him, the police officers tape the crime scene. They shoo the crowd away, including me. I walk to a nearby restaurant table outside and sit down, feeling dizzy. I shut my eyes and rub my forehead a few times. Suddenly the sun seems a bit too bright. You shouldn't have come out, you should be in bed, Nicole, resting. My mouth opens and while my eyes are still closed I say," I know, Shane, I know, I'll take my medicine right when I get home ok?". My eyes snap open, expecting to see a frowning Shane sitting arms crossed over his chest in the seat across from me. But the seat is empty. My head turns from side to side looking for Shane, expecting him to pop out of the store with his," I got you" face on. But Shane wouldn't joke about my sickness, he's way to serious. Um...yeah, I'm not someone you can see, Nicole, or would you rather be called Nikki? I mean can I call you that?. There's that voice again, it's not deep or husky, or squeaky or whiny, it's like a 14 year old boys voice. I look around the outside cafe, but I only see an old man with a fishing hat on and equipment and a family of three eating. I shake my head, almost sure a headache is about to come. I ask myself," I have got to be going crazy" I whisper. No...., you aren't going crazy, Nicole, like I said, I'm not someone you can actually see. I don't know how to put this....but I'm kind of in your head.Ha, pretty funny right?. And that's when I faint, and fall right on the sidewalk. Hello? Nikki? Greaaaaat, I made her faint, just great. * sigh*.
