Chapter 34

Harper's P.O.V.
We pulled up to Jacksons' friends house for his first play date. It's his friend Lee who is Asian that he met at his new school. But we dropped him off and left his bag he wants to spend the night with Lee and Lee's parents said it would be ok. So Eli and I decided it would be ok and good for him to spend the night with his friends.
But after we dropped Jackson we went to see the venue for Jackson's and his birthday is July 3rd and he will be 8 this year. And we wanted to make his first official birthday with us special because he it is his first birthday without his mother.  We got his party at LegoLand in 10 days. We just need to pay the amount for it.
30 minutes later
We just pulled up to LegoLand and Eli got Olivia and her car seat and I grabbed her diaper bag and my purse. He strapped her car seat on the stroller and shut the tailgate and locked the truck. We walked inside LegoLand filled with kids everywhere from all ages and from boys to girls.
But we went up to the reception desk where we need to get information on the event room. But we got there and waited until someone came because they are always super busy.
A young white lady with blonde hair and blue eyes came to the counter.
"Hello how are you ma'am? My name is Kaylie how can I help you?" She asked
"Yes I have the party room booked in 10 days on July 3rd for birthday party. And I want to pay the amount in full. And I would like to see if we could get a tour of the facility and see the party room for the party?" I asked
"Did you select a package yet?" she asked
"I have but I am not sure if I gave which one I wanted to the lady who I booked with but I want the New Birthday Party Package" I said
"Alright with tax that will bring your total to $575.34" she replied
I pulled out our black card and handed it to her so we could pay the full amount. She finished checking us out before she answered my question about the tour.
"Sign this copy and this is your copy and let me put this up and I will give you a tour." She said
She took the signed receipt and put it into a folder and came from around the counter.
"Follow me" she said and I grabbed Olivia's stroller after putting my purse in the under carrier and she was asleep and I just pulled the shade umbrella so she wouldn't have the lights on he face.
But we followed her to the room and it was huge it had like 8 tables for the kids to sit at and all colors and bean bags and a Lego play areas.
20 minutes later
We just finished the tour and LegoLand is huge and we went over itinerary for Saturday. But we decided to go to the mall and shop for a little while get Olivia some more clothes and try to see if we could pick out a few gifts for Jackson for his birthday. But we pulled up to Lenox mall and Eli got out and got Olivia and put her in the stroller and laid a blanket over her because she was still asleep and it was a little chilly in the mall. And closed the tailgate, I grabbed my purse and diaper bag and put the diaper bag under the stroller and Diamond was following us slowly.
Eli grabbed my hand and held it as we walked around the store. We went to the baby stores and shopped for some cute little dresses, shorts, shirts, and baby rompers for her. Then we moved on to Jackson.
"So what should we get him? Do you think he has a lot of clothes?" I asked Eli
"I honestly don't know, he needs like now casual clothes and dress clothes. They shouldn't be his gifts though" I said
"It's whatever you want babe" Eli replied
"Okay, let's check out here at Peek kids and let's go to H&M." I said
We checked out and Eli put the bags under the bottom of the stroller. And we walked a couple of more shops down and walked into H&M and went to the kids and baby section. We got Jackson suit pants in black, navy blue, and khaki. We got him blazers, a couple of bomber jackets, sweatshorts, button downs, shirts, and cardigans. We then go downstairs and shop for ourselves some clothes as well. We checked out and Eli carried these bags because they wouldn't fit under the carrier.
After we finished shopping we went to Camicakes to get Jackson's cake. We pulled in front of the shop and we all got out. I just grabbed Olivia out of the car seat I walked in. It began to rain so Eli came around and got us with an umbrella.
We walked inside and they greeted us.
"Hello welcome to CamiCakes, how can I help you?" the lady asked
"Need some cake tasting hopefully getting a cake designed for us" I replied
"Do you know what cakes you would like to try?" She asked
"How many can we try?" I asked
"As many as you want, it's just $45 dollar tasting charge." she replied
"I'm Harper by the way, and that's ok" I said
"Nicole and I will be assisting you today" she said
"Okay we want to try: sweet potato, banana cream, key lime, pineapple toasted coconut, strawberries n cream, red velvet, white chocolate macadamia, and red berry." I said
"Alright take a seat and I will be out momentarily with them." She said
30 minutes later
She came out with cupcakes of each kind for us to taste and three forks for us. We began tasting the cakes and deciding which ones we wanted.
"Okay now that you have been tasting are we ready to get down to business?" Nicole asked
"Yes, so my favorites were the strawberries n cream and oddly the sweet potato." I replied
"My favorite was the strawberries n cream" Diamond and Eli agreed
"What if we did a cake like this?" I said showing her the cake
"Okay that would work so it sounds like you like the strawberries n cream." She said
"Yes, but I think Jackson would like the sweet potato since he always asks me to make him some." I replied
"We could do the biggest bottom two layers strawberries and cream and those smaller top 2 sweet potato." She said and we could do the design just like that
"When do you need this?" She asked
"Saturday" I said
"Well because we usually book a month in advanced it's going to be an additional $100 dollars on top of the price of the cake which will be around $398.75" she said
I looked at Eli and he gave me a look
"Babe this is Jackson's first birthday with us" I said
"I will give you a second" Nicole said walking away from us while we talked
"I know Harper but I don't want to go broke giving him this. We just spent almost $600 dollars at LegoLand for the room, just bought him $200 dollars worth of clothes. We still have to get his gifts, possibly pay for extra pizza, and then $500 more dollars on top of that Harp.  That's $1300 dollars gone we can never get back" he said
"But babe, work hard we should play hard." I said
"How much do you make in an hour?" He asked
"Probably about $250-$400 dollars, why" I questioned
"Divide that by $1200 that's how much your going to have to work." He said
"Okay" I said looking down at Olivia and making my "I get what I want face toward Eli
"No no don't do it Harper" he said looking at me
"Please babe" I said
"No, I am not looking at you." he said turning his head
"I will do that thing you like tonight or tomorrow" I said
"Can y'all like stop?" Diamond said
"I want it tonight and tomorrow for this" he said
"I will promise babe" I said putting out my pinky for pinky promise
"Ok" he said pulling his wallet out and walking to the register and giving Nicole his black card.
It only takes a look and the thing I do, and he caves every time.
He paid for the cake and we set up the last things and left CamiCakes and headed home. And we called it a night.
