You sit by the fountain in the village's center. At this point all you can do is kill time. A group of children pass to your left, probably going to market to pick pockets. Laurance is off finding some work, and Nina is probably off somewhere in those throngs of children. You agreed to stay unemployed, at least until Laurance finds something stable.
The past week has been strangely serene. Aphmau is probably worried sick about her only child....
Laurance comes to your left and sits beside me. You take his hand, your passive expression turning to a frown as soon as you see his face.
"Nothing?" you ask. He is avoiding eye contact, you're right...
You walk back to the Lord's House to find Nina and 'Auntie Cadenza'. They're playing with blocks with great smiles. Laurance wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you close. Cadenza smirks up at you. Nina follows her gaze, curiously. Her face lights up when she sees you.
"Y/N, Y/N!" I have powers!
