Eventually Katelyn convinces you to tell him. You take a deep breath, and knock on the door of his house. A single tear rolls down your cheek. "Y/N? Why did you co-" Laurance begins. You don't allow him to continue, "IHaveADiseaseAndIMight... Die" you say really fast and quietly. "Y-Y/N I had no idea." He looks as if he's about to break into a million pieces. It makes me feel something— sympathy? Love? You don't know all you know is that you cannot forgive this man.
"Y/N, come on," he says. He takes your hand and leads you into the forest. By now it's twilight, and the sun is setting over the large mountain by the ruins. He takes you to the top of the mountain. You stare at all of the progress the village has made. So many people, of all different races. He drops your hand, the presence of his wedding ring reminding him of his duty to Irene, to love and protect another. You visibly cringe at the thought. Laurance notices, "What's wrong?" he asks. "I-it's just you broke your promise." He stares deep into my eyes. You hope he can't read your thoughts. "Y/N, I couldn't not have married her, as you said every child should have a father. I'm afraid I've lost them both though," he says tears streaming down his face. "L-Laurance? What's wrong?" you stutter. He away, "Garroth's back, and Aphmau can't help but fall for the knight in shining armor that slayed Zane, and 'Saved the world,' as she puts it." You can't find words. Any words that are found in this devoid land of thought catch in your throat. Instead you lean your head on his shoulder. When you speak, it sounds detached, away from your body, "Whoever she chooses I'll be here," you say. Even if those words are lies, well at least they aren't known to be truthful, you can't help but comfort the poor sole. You've both been through a lot. "Thank you Y/N, do you have anywhere to stay?" he asks. You hadn't thought of that. "Ummm. . ." you trail off. "Zoey, Isabell, and Dimitri have a guest room. Ask if you can stay there," he says. After a moment he turns to leave. You stare at the moon as it rises. Tomorrow you'll rise a new woman. (Or man if your gay -pro lgbt)
