I went home that day. There was so much humiliation I could take. That jerk.

Even thinking about him got my blood boiling. My mum started putting a plaster on my hickey as if that would help. It did the opposite instead, it just drew more attention. I had college the next day too, I wondered if I had a turtleneck lying around somewhere.

The next day Kohl's mum called me over, I thought of so many excuses, believe me, to avoid going. I didn't think I could face her after yesterday. What she must think of me, ugh I'll quietly bury myself into my pillow. I'm so embarrassed. But mostly, I didn't want to go because I'd have to face that jerk too.

"Hi, my future daughter-in-law! Nice plaster you've got there." She sniggered. Oh ok, I think I'm drowning into a pool of shame and I haven't even stepped a foot into this house.

We talked about the plans for the wedding, where to put what décors and what I'd be wearing for about half an hour. Well, she talked and I simply listened. She was so excited about everything. Truthfully, I was suffering, this felt like a punishment. So boring.

"Oh no! where's the invitation card sample?!" "I'm sure it's somewhere here, I'll help you look" I offered. "Ah!" "Did you find it Mrs Evans?" She kissed her lips "Mum, darling call me Mum." "Erm... But Mrs Ev-" she dramatically sighed. "Ok, mum." She was so pleased I could feel her staring into my soul.

"Ah right, it's not here." "Where would it be? Do you want me to get it for you?" She smiled "it's in Kohl's room, just ask him for it." "Uh... uh, m-maybe you should go grab it. I'll wait for you here Mrs. Ev- mum, I mean." I said catching my breath. "Please, would you go grab it and be a dear." She playfully pushed me towards the stairs.

I got to his room. I didn't know whether to knock or not. I knocked and he was like "Mum?!" "N-no it's me." "Who? Who's me?... Oh. Come in." I walked in "Mu- Mrs Evans said that you had the sample invitation card, she wanted me to get it." I looked around as I looked for him. "Just wait a bit. I'm in the shower!" I sat on his bed, waiting. He was taking a while so I got so comfortable I didn't realize I was lying down on his bed.

"Nice to see you made yourself comfortable." I jumped up quickly. "Why don't you have any clothes on!" "I did just get out of the shower you know and mind you, I've got a towel on. You wish I had nothing on." He smirked.

I didn't know where to look. Nice doorknob... Nice chocolate abs. Ah. Don't look there Dara, don't look! "I sh-should probably come back after. Ok bye!" I tried to walk fast past him. "Uh-uh, where do you think you're going." He grabbed my wrist. I forced my hand away, giving him a glare. "You forgot the invitation card." He grabbed it off of his table desk.

"Seriously, you could've just told me it was just over there." "And you could've seen that it was there." I tried to pull the invitation card out of his hand but he swayed it above my head, making me jump up for it. He wasn't really that much taller than me, but I had to really jump to grab it off of him. "Just give it!" "Get it!" he mocked me. I'll gladly wipe that smirk off his face.

He swung it this way and that way and jumped so much that his towel fell off. I quickly turned around. Instantly covering my eyes with my hands. "Give me the card, so I can go," I said as plainly as I could. "Give me my towel first." "What? I don't want to," I said back, shocked that he'd asked the favour. "Fine, I don't wanna give you this card." I grabbed the towel with my eyes shut and then handed it to him. "On second thoughts I don't want the towel, so you can stop covering your eyes and enjoy." What the hell. "Here's your card" he slipped it into my hand, I turned around and only then did I open my eyes as I headed towards the door.

After ages and ages of thinking about how to tell the parents that I didn't want to get married, more importantly, get married to him. I decided I'd just go for it.

I knocked and walked into Kohl's mum's room and I saw that she was sitting on one of those spinning office chairs facing the other direction "Mrs- I mean mum, I have something to tell you. I don't think I can go through with this marriage. I've always wanted to please you and I thought I could do it but I don't think I can do this. Please understand. I'm really sorry!"

Some moments had passed and she finally turned around in her chair, only it wasn't her. It was Kohl.

"Nice to know that you're back in your senses now. But too late. You took way too long to tell her and now you want to tell her just the day before the wedding? do you know how humiliated my mum would be? Look at you, you don't even care."

I just stared at him blankly with so much confusion until he continued "I guess you'll just have to marry me now. Your punishment for coming to my mum, wait, trying to come to my mum to finally cancel it. But you failed. Miserably." This was clearly a game to him.

I walked towards him, "I... But, I'll just explain it to her and we don't have to do this anymore," I pleaded. He looked at me as if I'd said something amusing. "Oh, but you're not getting it. I don't want to cancel the wedding. You will marry me. I'm gonna make you wish you didn't." If he smiled as he said that I wouldn't be as freaked out as I was.

But he didn't, he was ice cold. "See you tomorrow at the aisle, wifey."
