We had just arrived in front of the venue and we were losing it. Or correction, I was losing it.

We'll be fine Dara. Like a house on fire, right? Right. Ugh, I don't know anymore.

Kohl and I had something going earlier when he was apologising for being a total douche. Not entirely sure, what but it was a vibe that was somewhat, nice?

And now?

Totally unnerving and awkward tension was surrounding us.

Both of us didn't talk throughout the whole journey and it wasn't a quick one, we wouldn't even risk so much as glancing at each other. So, you can see why I'm internally freaking out here.

The 'are we ok or back to hating each other again' question ran through my head. Well, I knew I didn't exactly hate him, he was bearable. Some of the time.

I heard Kohl shift beside me uncomfortably and clear his throat.
"So... Ready?" I slightly shifted to look at him and I could feel it, I could feel his gaze burning me from the inside.

"Yeah, let's do this."

We sat on a table with Kohl's uncle, aunt, cousin Jay and the bride's parents. Thankfully, they didn't pry too much about our relationship but instead told us stories of how Ella and Rhys met and it was cute, unlike our story. I think the families knew how we ended up together, so they didn't have to ask.

Music overtook the conversations and the happily wedded couple swayed to their song. When they'd finished, we all clapped. Ella's mum cheered and told everyone to buddy up and join in too. As she was about to join in with her husband, she looked at me and Kohl. "Come on you two, that's you both as well. Show us all how the other newlyweds do it too." My cheeks felt like they were on fire. I smiled at her as she went off.

Kohl got up from his seat and placed his hand in front of me as I looked up at him. "You heard the lady, I feel like if we don't, she'll probably claim we ruined the wedding." I giggled because somehow, I thought that this would be something she would do since she couldn't help but complain about every little thing, like how the nameplates weren't exactly aligned with the seats or that the music played just half a minute later than it should've. So, I jumped up, looking too eager than anything.

As if Kohl wasn't expecting me to get up in an instant, he stumbled a little but quickly caught himself. I put my hand in his and we went to the dance floor. Everyone was already absorbed in their partners and dancing away.

And here we were, trying to awkwardly place our hands on each other. He placed his other hand that wasn't holding my hand, on my waist. I tried to pace my breathing. Heart please, don't beat too fast.

I placed my hand on his shoulder and inched a little closer, I could feel him tense under my hand. We moved to the music, he spun me about and this felt oddly okay.

Until my vibe was completely ruined when I saw some girl just watching Kohl. Kohl must've noticed how weird I'd gotten because he asked "hey, you ok down there?" with genuine concern. I tried to stop glaring at her. "Huh? Oh. Yeah, you okay... up there?"

"Great."

Well, I wasn't. It bothered me so much that this girl, whoever she was, kept looking at Kohl with this longing gaze. Did they know each other? I needed to find out who she was and what her deal was, looking at a, might I say married man who was dancing with his wife. This wasn't jealousy, no it was concern. Yep, that's all it was.
