It was January the 27th and Louis was desperately trying to find a way to get harry home for a few day for his birthday.

When he finally got the okay from the nurses at the clinic, he walked into harry's room and helped him up out of bed, drawing a confused look from his fiancee.

"Were going home for a few days!" Louis says and harry stops dead in his tracks, his face contorting in confusion

"W-what?" he asks skeptically

"The nurses are letting me bring you home for a few day for your birthday!" Louis says and harry smiles brightly

"Really?" he asks and Louis nods

"You, me and Ellory can spend your birthday doing whatever you want" He supplies and harry smiles sheepishly

"Can we have everyone over for dinner?" He asks and Louis smiles

"If thats what you want love, i can make it happen" Louis says, grabbing harry's essentials while harry gingerly picks up Ellory who was 6 months old on the 18th. He hefts her into his arms carefully, barely strong enough to hold her weight anymore. He walks over to louis and he slings an arm around harry's waist.

He checks harry out, and confirms he will be back in time for his chemo in a few days. They walk out of the building and load into the car and then they're off to their home, Harry as happy as he's been in a while.

When they get there all harry wants to do is take a bath and sit in the hammock with louis again, so they do.

Louis gets a bottle of wine out of the cupboard and pours him and harry a glass before going back to the bathroom and helping harry get into the tub, climbing into it himself and pulling harry back against his chest, both of them sighing happily at the warm water around them. Harry gently scoops up a handful of bubbles turning around and smearing it on louis face making him laugh and scoop up a handful, plopping them down on harry's bare head making him blush giggle as louis pushes more bubbles onto harry's face, giving him a bubble beard, moustache, sideburns and afro. Louis dries off his hands and takes a picture of him making him laugh and swat at louis

"C'mon Lou no pictures" he whines and louis laughs

"Froggy, you look too adorable" Louis chuckles, repeating the nickname for the simple reason it made harry pout cutely.

When they get out, harry pulls on one of louis sweaters, which is almost too big on him with all the weigh he lost because of the chemo. Louis smiles at him as he pulls on a pair of fluffy pyjama pants before grabbing the baby monitor and walking into the basement, where louis had his piano, which they had made into a comfortable den. It was cozy and smelled faintly of lilacs, and was what harry described as 'homey'.

They had moved the hammock down there for the winter, attaching it to a beam in the ceiling. They curled up in it, harry climbing into louis arms with his book, louis opting to just take a nap.

A few minutes later, Ellory cries and harry lets louis up to go and get her. He puts her on a blanket with some toys before climbing into the hammock once again, harry sitting back down again, opening his book. Louis watched Ellory as she pushed herself to her knees, clinging to the edge out the couch as she stands wobbly, getting mostly up before plopping back on her bum gurling as she does so. Harry still looking down at his book, but his eyes were on his daughter, as were louis and both of them had small smiles on their faces as they watched Ellory play.

"You'd think she'd be delayed with her being premature and all but holy crap, she's hitting milestone awfully fast isn't she?" louis chuckles and harry nods

"Papa's girl..." he whispers before bursting into tears making louis tear his eyes away from Ellory.

"Hey hey!" he whispers "Whats wrong love?" he soothes, pulling harry into a hug
