"Wake up!" A booming voice called out causing me to shoot out of bed hitting my head on a wooden beam that protruded out of the wall in the process.
"Come on boy if your gonna be in our crew you need to be up and ready before the sunrises, the ocean waits for no one." The man said as he tossed a bucket and mop in my direction.
"Yes sir." I replied as I picked up the items as he left.
"Once your ready go up deck and start mopping, captain wants it clean enough to eat off and don't you dare slack off or you'll face the consequences."
"Yes sir I understand."
Lucky for me I still had my clothes from yesterday on so all I did was tie the bandana Mabel gave me on my head and I was ready.
Exiting the small room with the bucket and mop I made my way to the top deck, I would be lying if i said it wasn't intimidating. Here I was with a bucket and pale surrounded by buff sailers who where at least 3x my size.
The ship was noticeably moving so I must have slept later then all of them.
Making my way over to the edge of the boat I couldn't help but take in the view, water as fair as the eye could see and what's better, no sign of gravity falls.
"Enjoying the sight lad." A voice I recognized as the captain spoke as a hand was placed on my shoulder.
"Yeah I've never seen anything so beautiful."
"Well lad it maybe beautiful now but there be a storm coming soon, notice the wind and how it's blowing."
"Not really sir." Honestly it was a nice day out i didn't feel any breeze except the one caused by the boat slicing through the air.
"Well a few years at sea will change that."
"Wait! A few years?!" No this can't be right.
"Well yes, did you think this was some small scavenger hunt or something." He replied with a raised eyebrow.
"I didn't know it would be years!" I started to panic, I didn't want to be away for a few years! A few months sure but years!
"Don't worry laddie we'll be sure to get ye home safe, probably." He muttered the last word but I could just barely hear it.
No no no no this can't be happening! I would have never taken this job if I knew I'd be away for years! Does Mabel know? Or Stan? This is bad very very bad.
"Relax lad out here time seems to go by fast. You'll be home before you know it. And who knows maybe we'll find one of those dammed creatures early then we could head back sooner. "
"Yeah, okay." My nerves where somewhat calmed at those words but just barely.
"Once yer done sight seeing you best get to work, I don't want any slackers on this here ship."
"Aye aye sir."
"That's the spirit laddie." He let out a chuckle and left to what I assume, patrol the ship.
Sighing I grabbed the bucket and started one of the many chores of the day...

(Bills pov)
"Another boring day of nothing to do." Groaning I rolled off the rock I was laying on into the water surrounding it.
"Bill!"
Oh great now I have to deal with him this day just keeps getting better.
"What!" I snapped as my annoyingly clingy twin brother emerged from the water, his blue hair and frills shimmering in the sun.
"What have I told you about doing this you could have been seen!" He was probably referring to the rock.
"So what Will, it's not like there are any humans around anyway." My frills twitched in annoyance.
"Bill this is serious, what if no one was around and you got captured what would we do." Will replied.
"I don't know cause that won't happen, Will I'm a lot stronger then those weaklings at home I can handle taking on a human."
"What about two humans, or three, how about a whole ship full!" Will stated.
"They wouldn't stand a chance." I smirked he and I both know that I could just as easily sink a ship with my tail tied behind my back.
"Bill just please promise me you'll be careful, you know there's not a lot of royals left." Will said sadly.
Here we go again the whole 'royals are rare nowadays and that we need to be careful because our family has the most amount of royal blood' and bla bla bla who cares.
"Yeah sure." I said not really caring.
"Brother, your the only family I have left I don't want to lose you." Will said tears building up in his eyes. He was always the emotional type.
"That won't happen cause I'm not going anywhere I promise you, now lets go back home and get ready for tonight's celebration." I said putting a hand on Wills shoulder and going under, he was following close behind.
Once we arrived we both went to our rooms and got ready, I grabbed a gold plated necklace and placed it on my neck alone with golden arm bracelets to go along with the style, being of royal blood it was required to wear only the most fine of jewelry. Looking at the mirror In front of me it was almost as if I didn't even need all these meaningless things, I already had almost gold scales not to mention the speckles of gold that laced most of my human half, most noticeable on my shoulders and the frills on the side of my face. But as a "Royal" it was required either way. Speaking of looks my brother was almost exactly the same except for the fact that he's blue, I mean like seriously we're supposed to be twins and he's flippen blue not to mention our personalities are polar opposites.
A voice snapped me out of my thoughts "Prince Cipher the party is all set up for this evening." One of my many servants called from the other side of the door.
"Alright I'm almost finished I shall be out to inspect. Oh and if it's not perfect I'll be sure to feed on of you to the Sharks." I replied. This was a very important party with only the finest of merpeople and I don't want this night ruined by my servants with some improper decor.
Checking in the mirror one last time I exited my room to do a proper inspection of what my servants managed to put together, I may just fed someone to the Sharks as some entertainment for my guests...
