Thanks to all the chores that Stan gave me at the Tavern I managed to finish the deck in an hour, being please with the results I placed the mop and bucket back to where they go and then tightened my bandana that happened to loosen.
Looking up I noticed black clouds circling overheard, the captain was right about a storm.
Men rushed to get the boat secured and ready for the terror that laid ahead. The captain barked orders and even took some initiative and work on a few parts of the ship himself, I on the other hand wasn't much help. It only took a few minutes for the waves to go wild and crash against the boat.
'Here we go.' I though as rain pelted down like frozen bullets.

It only took a few second being in the storm to cause the ship to be jerked back and forth in an unnatural manner, it was hard to keep balance and the waves rising over the walls of the ship didn't help. The ocean seemed to vanish as the clouds covered the sun and rain pelted down endlessly, the wind roared as if it was a hunter and the ship was the pray.
The captain continued barking orders as higher waves struck the stern of the ship causing some overflow. Grabbing the nearest thing which happens to be a rope connecting to the mast of the ship I held on. Suddenly a sickening rumble went though the ship and a sentence that made my blood run cold.
"We've been hit!"
I couldn't even comprehend what was happening I just knew this ship was joining down.
The crew then went in overdrive, going under deck to stop the water from coming in. We must have been taking on water fast cause I could feel the rumbling of water filling the ship. And it was just getting better cause what do you know, we hit something else. Now the boat was taking on more and more water.
'I'm gonna die, I can't swim in this and even if I do I'll freeze.'
It seems the crew forgot about me as they all ran back and forth taking no notice of me.
Another lurch caused me to lose my balance and at that moment the boat decided to lean to the right and cause me to slip on the water that pooled on the deck and I slammed against the railing. Looking over the boat I could have sworn I saw something swim under, Sharks just great. The boat leveled out again and my knuckles turned white at how hard I gripped the railing.
"Abandon ship!" A voice called out. Turning I noticed they where all going to a life boat.
I had to get there but I couldn't move my legs, fear had taken over. My heart raced, I told my legs to go but they just buckled and I fell on my knees in to the pool of saltwater on the deck.
Deafening cracks where heard as the wood started to split and the sound of the life boat splashing into the ocean could just barely be heard.
'No this can't be happening! There abandoning me!'
Then the boat was almost completely submerged except for some of the deck but that wouldn't last long, finally my stupid body listened and I released the railing and ran across the deck salt water splashing under my feet. I saw it the life boat slowly rowing away almost getting pulled under by the waves but managing to stay afloat.
'I have to do this.' I thought as I jumped. The water stung like needles and almost seemed like it burned through my skin but I had to get to that boat. 'For Mabel.' The thought of seeing her again is what kept me from stopping and giving into the oceans temptation of death.
It seemed every time I swam to the life boat the life boat sailed 5x farther. Fighting the current was hard enough but the waves where worse, not to mention the temperature. If I didn't go under befor the waves stuck I would definitely die.
'I can't...keep going...I'm going to die.' I thought and just like that a large wave crashed down on me and I went under. I saw the shadows of sharks above me and I knew there must have been some below me but I didn't have the strength to keep going 'I'm...sorry...Mabel.' Was all I thought before darkness claimed my vision.
